Ok, I have fixed it
First I updated omxplayer
Then I did what is mentioned in the below linked forum, I’ve changed the name of asplashscreen in nasplashscreen (sleep command did not work)
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=97693
Than I added this line for the omxplayer, to have full screen video:
omxplayer –layer 10000 -b –win “0 0 1280 1024” –no-keys /home/pi/media/intro.mp4
I have a 4:3 monitor, and my custom made intro plays long enough that the ES loading screen only is shown a few seconds. Now I’m really happy :)
Or like we in germany say “Alles aus einem Guss!”
threepwoodParticipantI am one of these cabinet builders ;)
Well, I got the Splashvideo working, and blacked out all the background boot text and logo of the raspberry. But it works only WITHOUT the –layer command
The –layer command somehow does not work. Doesn’t matter which number I use (1, 3, 10000) omxplayer always shows a black screen and no audio, until the es splashscreen pops up, when I use the –layer command.
Syntax is correct, just like provided in this thread.
Any suggestions? ES screen cuts the last seconds of my custom made video :/
threepwoodParticipantAnother suggestion for your theme:
I use the nbba theme at the moment (not es, not ns).
Where the “es” theme provides a little too much information (all the description of the game), for me the nbba theme provides a little too less.
I would like to see the games list on the right, just like it is.
On the upper left a large picture of the gamebox.
And on the lower left side just a few informations (at best in a small font, if possible)
– Players/Coop
– Genre
– Release date
– developer/publisherBecause of the huge amount of games its sometimes hard to find a 2 player shooter for example.
Altough I/we probably know many games, but I also discovered many which I don’t know. This would ease the searching process.
Just an idea…
threepwoodParticipantI like the normal style more, but in the end it’s your decision
Both looks good
threepwoodParticipantDoom, quake und duke nukem reminds me always on the dos prompt
C:\>
But dosprompt can be misunderstood
Or the arrow keypad of a keyboard maybe? wasd keys?
threepwoodParticipantLooks awesome! Thumbs up for your effort.
threepwoodParticipantThat was it, great, it’s working!!
Thank you!
And when Lynx, Vectrex (and Dreamcast for the future) are also on the list, then, well, then are you my personal hero ;)
My raspi will be build in an arcade bartop very soon, and this theme will be looking really good. the simple one is… Well… Too simple :o)
threepwoodParticipantThanks for the fast reply!!!
I’m using a 17″ 4:3 TFT at the moment, but finally it’s gonna running on a 19″ 4:3. Resolution? I don’t know, i just plugged in the cable ;)
Your suggestion worked partially. SNES + NES is fixed now.
Some screens still have this issue:
MAME, Master System, PlaystationHow can I repair this on my own stil the next update is available?
threepwoodParticipantvery nice! would like to see the atari “lynx” and vectrex in this list!
Btw, I downloaded it, followed your instructions for installation, but some backgrounds just appear white, like there is no artwork.
suggestions?

reboot ftw, works now :0)
i love this theme, just vectrex and lynx is missing ;)####
update 2:
gamesliste in 32x is too bright, can hardly see the names
SNES, NES and PSX have on the left where the cover is some kind of shade, that is over the picture… hard to explain, the left side of the picture is darker than the right side of the picture. how can i remove this shade?threepwoodParticipantBecause of the vga-adaptor I have to force the soundoutput over hdmi. Thats working, ok.
But is there a way to get the sound out of both? hdmi AND the jack?
Or, even better, is there a possibility that the RasPi puts out the sound forced through HDMI, but when I plug in Headphones in the jack, that it switches from the hdmi to the jack automatically?
