how new is it like past 2.6? i dont remember trying it and can it play the hacked roms? i have tried gpSP, lr-gpSP, lr-vba-next. If i remember correctly lr-vba-next played hacked roms but had slow down sometimes to 10 FPS that happen with both legit and hacked roms? ill give it a try though
thedigi321Participantno i have not, i have more or less given up let me know if someone else finds out thank you
thedigi321Participant
Finally fixed after countless forum posts.
added overscan_scale=1 to the config.txt and now i can see the whole bottom menu just fine.

can you link to the forum post. My overscan_scale was already in the config and was set to one :(
07/22/2015 at 05:54 in reply to: GBA boot issues can not load roms that worked in previous versions #102487thedigi321Participanti had a controller issue on quake but i was so tired that it sounds like a jumbled mess and the title makes no sense is there a way i can redo it all? i have a feeling reposting the content when you have one up is frowned upon-ed

thedigi321Participantsome times you can add an extension like .zip(a compressed format) if you edit it in to /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg you will see stuff after psx in different lines like path, extensions(like .bin, .cue, .iso, .img) and if you get lost looking for psx hold ctrl and W to use “where is” and search psx but i just change the path to my usb stick(media/usb0/psx) so i don’t have to mess with that stuff if you need help let me know
thedigi321Participantalso worked for me thank you
thedigi321Participantmy controller is a ps2 controller with a cheap(3-4 dollars) adapter here is the closest picture i can find http://preview.tinyurl.com/qf3cvbv it is a link to the ebay that looks similar i bought the adapter almost a year ago so i wouldn’t be able to find the EXACT one but it is using the name of http://preview.tinyurl.com/ps2-controller-gamepad i only remember it because i bought that type before
ok so the code is working the X button is mapped to the O button the analog left stick is the main movement(like the d pad) and the d pad is as far as i can tell not in use
thedigi321Participant
Can you send the 3 files I listed above? I’ll see if its something straight forward.
This output will also help me
“ls /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/”
the output is as follows:pi@retropie ~ $ ls /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/
Twin_USB_Joystick.cfgmy retroarch configuration file:
http://pastebin.com/bMtS65pFes_temporaryinput.cfg:
http://pastebin.com/cTk7FuHpes_input.cfg:
http://pastebin.com/rQEntgDDthedigi321Participant
Can you let me know which version of RetroPie you are running or how you built it?
i am using the Retropie 3.0 beta 4 and i used win32diskimager with the pre built image in the download. the only thing i have done is change the path of my roms to my usb and configured the controller with emulationstation gui and RetroArch settings neither seemed to work. the controller worked fine on 3.0 beta 2. my controller thinks that when the analog sticks are not activate that the pushing down on the right analog stick is like pressing the “A” buttonthedigi321Participant
@davidgourde
Can you post the following files for me (using attachment or pastebin)
/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_temporaryinput.cfg
/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/(the only file in here?)Make sure your retroarch.cfg files are untouched as they were when you built the image.
would you like mine too or just david’s?
thedigi321Participantim in the same boat you are in, if you find a solution please let me know my face buttons work and shoulder buttons work but not the d pad or sticks mine is the twin USB thing but the adapter is a generic chinese adapter that uses the Twin stick config but it think there are to ports (#0, and #1) and just before the game starts it will switch between port 0 and 1 idk how to stop it. that might be where are problem is
thedigi321Participantthe ports i am talking about are stuff like cavy story, DOOM, QUAKE ARENA here is a video i followed
RetroPie Tutorial – Run games from USB instead of SD Card in EmulationStationi just noticed it said emulationstation but it is really hard for me to get a response and i thought i could get better help here
thedigi321Participantmaybe but i copied my retropie folder with the bios and the roms and whatever else was in that folder so i am doing a fresh install i will tell you about it when it gets done
thedigi321Participantok so i got the same error but on the runcommand.log i got
“RetroArch: rarch_log_libretro: [libretro INFO] :: Frontend supports RGB565 – will use that instead of XRGB1555.
RetroArch: rarch_log_libretro: [libretro INFO] :: Loading /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/nes/Battletoads.nes…RetroArch [WARN] :: rarch_log_libretro :: [libretro WARN] :: FDS BIOS ROM image missing!RetroArch [WARN] :: rarch_log_libretro :: [libretro WARN] :: An error occurred while loading the file.RetroArch [ERROR] :: load_content :: Failed to load content.”
thedigi321Participanti found this in my es_log
http://pastebin.com/7VNZBFB1thedigi321Participanti had to put es_systems.cfg in /home/pi/.emulationstation is that wrong?
and yes i am using an 1080p hdmi tv
thedigi321Participanti understand the legal issue i found where to put the bios thanks
thedigi321Participantthe roms work on my pc but where do i put the bios that might be the issue
thedigi321Participantok thank you :) i figured it out after googling some
thedigi321Participantok im slowly thinking its NOT just dosbox its the whole retropie what could cuase that
thedigi321Participantokay so I have a two point six emulator but when I run emulationstation it does not work. freeze and stops complying with my key board
thedigi321Participanti have no spare micro sd cards and not only that i like keeping everything organized on one card are you good at making images to berryboot? or know someone that is?
thedigi321Participanti have ran into an issue with this when i run emulationstation it give me the error
“usr/bin/emulationstatio: line 11: 2642 Illegal instruction $es_bin “$@” did anyone else have this issuethedigi321Participantthat is a problem, I cant make the image file a squashfs format correctly, or i would. I did all the steps on the berryboot website but I go an error and it goes into recovery mode once I launch it. I cant read the error that fast so I dont know exactly what the error is but i noticed it’s a problem with sbin and system files I tried using it from raspbian but after the command ’emulationstation’ it freezes. I use it before I got into system x. I am at a total lost
thedigi321Participantok so i made a squashfs file but I think i messed up somewhere because now it goes to “Emergency recovery shell”
