Throught ssh connection and retropie-setup
I followed your step, Nothing more
For the firmware it’s the last one I check every once in a while on 8bitdo website to be sûre i didn’t miss anythingIf you need more information about my set up, i will be glad to help :)
thakParticipantI have a nes30pro and a nes30
And I just made à fresh install this morning and everything work fineI made à set up for à friend with 2 nes30 on rpi1 (and Bluetooth dongle) and that works fine too
Just need to turn on controller on émulationstation screen
thakParticipantThx floob for your update!
I’m still with retropie 3.6 and rpi3 and my nes30pro connect automaticly if i turn it on at the end of the splashscreen (if not i’d just need to reboot the controller on émulationstation screen)Since i found out this i’d never had anymore problem!
Maybe it’s cause of the rpi3 bt?
thakParticipantHi!
Thanks to your link on reddit i managed to set-up my nes30 pro (8bitdo) so for anyone who tried to configure this one here’s my config in “/opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/mappings/controller_8BitdoNES30Pro.cfg”
[emulator]
mapping_name = 8Bitdo NES30 Pro
btn_escape = 314[dreamcast]

I’m going back play some more :D
Thks!
thakParticipantHi!
As link herbfargus, only model3 was compil/code ( i don’t know) for Linux… Model2 run only on Windows or on Linux with vine… So except if someone is skilled enought to adapt model2 on Linux it will ‘ot be possible for now.
thakParticipantOk find out after my fourth trial :D
The controller need to be turn on on émulationstation screen in otder to work… Kinda strange, but now it works !
thakParticipantHi!
So you manage to connect your 8Bitdo controller automaticly ?
How did you do?thakParticipantI already tried this on a fresh install and it didn’t work :(
thakParticipantNo the OS still on a SDCard, you can only boot with it if i’m not wrong…
I was thinking on store all data (rom, save state, gamelist, etc…) inside the ssd for the pretty large capacity (and reading speed) he could offer.
So my concern is more like, can we easely use the ssd like we could use an usb Key?thakParticipantOk, So it works :)
But… Afyer pairing the 2nd controller and ditectly import the right cfg file from github (your wiki link),because the D-pad don’t have the same input, in retroarch.cfg we need to be sûre which gamepad will be p1 and/or p2 in order to change/adapt the D-pad input correctly !I hope my thought was clear ^^
thakParticipantHi!
Can we pair 2 differents 8bitdo contrller?
Like, in my case, a nes30 and a nes30pro ?
The nes30 is already working fine, i just need to add the nes30pro!Thanks in advance !
thakParticipantSo no hint on how make PiFBA work woth this controller?
With snes/Genesis/pc engine, FBA is really something :)
I don’t necesserly need an easy solution, but at least à way to find oneI’ve tried jtest (or something like that) in order to know the input but in PiFBA fba2x.cfg none works…
thakParticipantOkay so i do everything as said in the wiki on a fresh install and VOILA :)
Thx!
But the lr-fceumm doesn’t seem to work correctly (so i used lr-nestopia and this one is ok)
And lr-fba is way too slow, does your config would work with PiFBA ?
I try to change the joystic config in fba2x.cfg to match with retroarch.cfg but no luckAnyway everything else work and that’s really great!
thakParticipantIs it possible to connect 2 controller with your method? If yes how do we connect the second controller?
thakParticipantHi,
I’ve tried your tuto 2 times and each time my controller doesn’t connect.
They registred correctly but, when i reboot no connection between the pi and nes30, the bluelight still flashing.
Did you do something else that you forget to mention maybe?I’m running retropie 3.0 on PiB
Thx in advance for your help
