tgillyParticipant
Just delete /etc/init.d/xboxdrv and run “sudo update-rc.d xboxdrv remove”
If you also blacklist XPAD module, you should be good.
Kind regards
tgillyParticipantThis might have something to do with an issue with the SNES emulator which is included in RP3 Final. Just update it using the RP Menu script and you should be fine
tgillyParticipantPerhaps some more information or another or the same approach https://www.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/how-to-run-from-usb-the-best-method/
tgillyParticipantTotally agree ! It should eventually become the standard settings for RetroPie. The problem that I’m experiencing (only been using it a couple of months), is that the information is mostly found somewhere on this forum but not really categorized.
So see a lot of responses from you (Dankcushions) and Floob but it is not easy to find or maintain. If you would mind sharing your config files, I’ll be more then happy to check it out and perhaps create such an overview.
tgillyParticipantI noticed the rewind_enable = “false” is actually configured as such in the general retroarch.cfg (RetroPie 3.0 final) so configuring it specific for PSX or N64 is obsolete right ?
tgillyParticipantI don’t believe this has changed in RP 3 so it should just work.
I have had some issues with this in the past as well but a simply reboot fixed it for me.tgillyParticipantNormally, you should just be able to upgrade using the Retropie-Setup script. However, for myself, I’m planning on doing a quick re-install to start from a black sheet.
A couple of thing to backup :
– ROMS : “\home\retropie\ROMS” . Regular saves and Savestates are in these folders
– Scraper : If you have used the scraper of EmulationStation, this information is stored in the “\home\pi\.emulationstation\”. Two directories “gamelists” “downloaded_images”
– RetroArch.cfg : “\opt\retropie\configs\all\”You are loosing some settings (specific configs per ROM/Emulators)

Additionally, I would recommend to blacklist the XPAD kernel module all together.tgillyParticipantI found the issue. I actually followed this guide (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Setting-up-the-XBox360-controller) but instead of installed the “Xboxdrv” via the command line, I used the RetroPie Setup script. This actually besides installed the Xbox driver, also updates update.rc to run the driver.
So long story short, I undid the actions I did as described in the guide above and my controllers were put on js0 and js1. I also blacklisted the xpad module to make sure no conflicts could come from that.
tgillyParticipantFollow these steps :
– Install the “Xboxdrv” drivers from the RetroPie setup menu. Choice option 3 and then the last option.
– Reboot. The lights should no longer be blinking continuously but one player selection should have lit up
– Emulationstation will ask you to configure the controller again, follow this.
– Follow these steps as of RetroPie Configuration (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Setting-up-the-XBox360-controller#retropie-configuration)tgillyParticipantCan you give us more details about your configuration ?
Did you follow a guide to get your XBOX controllers working ? Which version are you running ?07/27/2015 at 11:23 in reply to: Select+triangle doesnt work to open Retroarch menu after RC1 update #102821tgillyParticipantCan you check your retroarch.cfg ?
I should somewhere depict two lines like theseinput_enable_hotkey_btn = “8”
input_exit_emulator_btn = “9”Obviously, 8 and 9 represent select and start (I’m using an Xbox 360 controller)
tgillyParticipantThanks you for the clarification ! Works now
tgillyParticipantI didn’t have controller issues before so my case not entirely similar but since I updated retroarch, emulator are working again. Thanks for the responses
tgillyParticipantSame issue here.. I hope this gets fixed without a re-install
tgillyParticipantUpdated to Beta 3.0 and the issue remains the same. Any suggestion ?
