I am coming back to bump this again. Anyone ever found a solution for this? I have seen other posts around the internet but they don’t have solutions that work either besides some dead ends that used to work.
techstepParticipantI am bumping this to see if anyone can help me out with this. Its still pending.
techstepParticipantIts only with Super Mario Allstars. Some further research shows that it is the GAME that is the issue and not the controller. So, unfortunately, you cannot play that game as such.
techstepParticipantDid you ever get the down and right to work? They do not for me either.
I purchased a USB to SNES controller adapter. It detects it but does not respond to down or right.
techstepParticipantbuzz,
I just did a complete binary install after updating the script. I now have the retropi config in emulation station. But, when I run it and go into Setup/Configuration I do not see the options to set default emulators. I specifically want to do this for mupen64plus…
All I did was clean image,expand,update-upgrade,update retropi-setup.sh,binary install. That should have been it right?
techstepParticipantDo we have to do a binary install to get this new merged code or can we update? I just did a new setup about a week ago… and I really do not want to have to start all over.
techstepParticipantSo… I guess…that no one else has this problem? It keeps selecting itself as “Joystick #1” which is really 2.
techstepParticipantOr SD into your PC and copy to a USB?
techstepParticipantNot you TOO floob! :c
I am fine either way. I think it makes setup a bit easier for the people with less knowledge which means less forum posts… which means more time responding to more important issues… but, either way.
I would really like to see some performance metrics. I have a sneaky feeling that there is little to no performance hit from it being installed except for a couple hundred MBs of space.
techstepParticipantThere any news on this? Should I just rule this out as a k/m thing only?
techstepParticipantI was going to apt-get it myself. But, roo and some others say it will cause errors now if I do. Is this true?
I doubt most of us are worried about space with 64GB SDs being so cheap now.
techstepParticipantIts not for the Wiimote abilities most likely. Its because the Classic controller connects to the Wiimote… and the classic controller is most likely the greatest retro controller available. And you do not need a sensor bar for the Classic.
I would like this too. I have a compatible bluetooth adapter.
techstepParticipantAtari2600 scraped perfectly for me. 375 games all with pictures and descriptions.
techstepParticipantDoesn’t scrap atari st. The hash updates and then it just stops.
techstepParticipantI personally did not modify my default config file. I used the one from the first post:
/opt/retropie/emulators/RetroArch/configs/USB,2-axis8-buttongamepad.cfg
This resolved the issue for me. Maybe you should try that instead. Also, I know its stupid but make sure your quotes are correct. I was missing a quote and it was throwing everything off.
techstepParticipantThanks, Floob. Your help posts and videos are the only reason I was able to get my Raspberry Pi completely running. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
techstepParticipantThis is the only post I can find about Hatari and configuring controllers. I really want to get Hatari up and running with controllers. But, the internet is devoid of information.
Have you had any luck with this?
techstepParticipantThank you for adding these. They are the Buffalo USB SNES controllers. So, after spending a couple hours trying to get it to work with hotkeys… floob’s process fixed it for me.
Thanks.
