I don’t know what I was doing wrong, I started again with a fresh sd image and got it to work.
04/02/2016 at 11:16 in reply to: Simple 1 button GPIO on off switch: 1 switch, 2 wires, 10 lines of code #122199spaceinvaderParticipantNow working!
Don’t know what the hell was doing wrong before…
Thanks for the help.04/02/2016 at 09:06 in reply to: Simple 1 button GPIO on off switch: 1 switch, 2 wires, 10 lines of code #122193spaceinvaderParticipantSkizz, it works to you while testing or at any time?
03/31/2016 at 21:33 in reply to: Simple 1 button GPIO on off switch: 1 switch, 2 wires, 10 lines of code #122118spaceinvaderParticipantI tried pressing and holding, and no way. I also tried putting “sudo sh” like in the test, and no way…
by the way skizz, I have noted that althogh getting the I/O error message, the script works, try testing it and pressing the shutdown button.
03/31/2016 at 21:19 in reply to: Simple 1 button GPIO on off switch: 1 switch, 2 wires, 10 lines of code #122116spaceinvaderParticipantHi!
I have transferred your files, and half work…
the script Works when I test it, I don’t know what happened with my script, I think it was exactly the same, but… it doesn’t matter.
The trouble is that it doesn’t work anytime. Despite the rc.local you uploaded was wrong (it says shutdownm.sh), I corrected it but it keeps on not working…
I will carry on trying…
spaceinvaderParticipantYes, I solved the problema editting config.txt and changing hdmi mode to 16, but I don’t understand why before I didn’t need to change it, it seemed like on first boot the correct resolution was detected and now it doesn’t…
Anyway many thanks for the help!
03/27/2016 at 15:25 in reply to: Simple 1 button GPIO on off switch: 1 switch, 2 wires, 10 lines of code #121615spaceinvaderParticipantI can’t get this to work too.
When doing the test get
sh: echo: I/O error
And after booting also does not work.
Don’t know what I am doing wrong…
spaceinvaderParticipantNo, Pi2 and Retropie 3.6 connected via wifi…
spaceinvaderParticipantSorry mydriaze. I hadn’t seeen tour response.
Yes, even with a fresh image. It seems like before my tv’s resolution was correctly detected and automaticly put on the config.txt file and now it is not…
spaceinvaderParticipantI forgot to say that the same problem occurs with older images, such as 3.5, 3.4, …
So I don’t relieve it is because of the firmware.
Anyway I’ll try another hdmi_mode…
spaceinvaderParticipantTried with a brand new hdmi cable and the same.
I know I can try changing the overscan values, but I don’t understand why before with a new sd imagen it always took the right resolution itself and now it does not…
Anyway, thanks.
spaceinvaderParticipantIt works!
Only missing exit emulators with only escape key. Any suggestion?
spaceinvaderParticipantOk, thanks. I will try too…
spaceinvaderParticipantHow can I turno con these options?
spaceinvaderParticipantTake a look here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/retro-gaming-with-raspberry-pi/buttons
spaceinvaderParticipantExcuse me for my late reply and many thanks for your lines. I will try them next weekend. Will let you know the result…
spaceinvaderParticipantI’ve tried everything, configure in emulationstation only keyboard, only pad, first keyboard and then pad and viceverse, and no work.
It seems that both keyboard and pad are retropad 1. So what I need is that my pad was retropad 2.
spaceinvaderParticipantMany thanks for your help joyrider3774. Until next weekend I won’t be able to try it, but if you can post your files, to take a look meanwhile…
Anyway I’m using lr-mame2003, so it also uses retroarch configs and in the tab config I press cancel and start every one with none, but when I press up or so, it puts UP RETROPAD1 UP, so I suppose that anyway, pad’s buttons are assigned to keyboard’s ones and this is what I have to solve.
By the way, do you know how to use the mouse in retroarch? In advmame I’ve assigned its buttons in the tab menu, but not the mouse movements, and in lr-mame2003, not the buttons, nor the movements…
spaceinvaderParticipantMy problem is that I want to set the player 1 keys to keyboard and the player 2 to a USB pad, but when I try to configure player 1 with tab, if I press up, it gets up keypad 1 up, so my player 1 and player 2 controls, control player one both.
I don’t know if I’ve expressed well…
spaceinvaderParticipantAnd lr-mame2003 does? With advmame i hace been able to configure the mouse buttons, but I still don’t know how to configure mouse movements. Anyway my intend is to use all l muy emulators with retroarch, if it is posible…
spaceinvaderParticipantUff, via the mame tab interface is a little difficult to me. Thanks anyway.
spaceinvaderParticipantBut they are not manually editables. I am having a hard work to configure my 2 players (P1 with keyboard and P2 with a usb pad).
BTW, could you tell my how to get a mouse working in mame 2003?
spaceinvaderParticipantWhere in the hell gets saved the input remappings done with mame menu (TAB key)?
spaceinvaderParticipantMouse, trackball, spinner for marble madness, centipede, arkanoid and so…
spaceinvaderParticipantHi.
I’m having troubles to get my mouse working too.
I did
cat /dev/input/mouse0
And
cat /dev/input/mouse1
And both worked (one is my keyboard’s integrated touchpad and the other a usb mouse), but now I don’t know how to make one of them work in emulators (I use lr-mame 2003).
Any help is highly appreciated…
spaceinvaderParticipantWhat a shame, it worked!
in Windows 7 retropié was seen in the network, but in Windows 10 does not, I don’t know why…
Thanks!

Now I have Little time to try but Iwill as son as I can.
By the way, a request for the programming gods, how about trying to addapt the Geecab’s Monaco GP simulator for Retropié? could it be posible?

Thanks you all for the great job (and sorry for my English).
spaceinvaderParticipantHi.
Ciuld you give me a link to the HDMI-component converter you bought?
I want to use muy RPi2 with a CRT TV, but the composite output doesn’t give quality enough…
09/06/2015 at 22:03 in reply to: Introducing ZEsarUX, a ZX Spectrum Emulator for Game Controllers #105538spaceinvaderParticipantI want to use a Spectrum emulator, I do not know wich one is better, fuse, lr-fuse or zesarux.
I have mapped gpio pins as keyboard keys with the Adafruit Retrogame utility, but some games does not support remapping keys, so I’d like to be able to start every game with its specific keys correctly mapped.
Which one could support this feature?
Sorry for my bad English!
spaceinvaderParticipantThanks!!
spaceinvaderParticipantWell, I have got the remaps with the command loadkeys and creating a keymap for every single game.
The problem is that every time I launch a game I need to load the game keymap before and after exiting load the normal keymap, so I need to launch the games with a .sh script.
I made the scripts, but they does not work because of runcommand.sh
May I modify the way to launch the fuse games i es_systems.cfg to remove runcommand.sh or is there any other way to work with scripts?
spaceinvaderParticipantTry dropbox…
spaceinvaderParticipantYou are talking about a CRT PC monitor yes?
If so I think that the hdmi to VGA adapter should be enough, it works at 31kHz, same signal as the given by this adapter.
The first ítem of muy order is to convert the 31kHz signal to the 15kHz needed by the CRT TV.
spaceinvaderParticipantHi.
I’m also trying to make an arcade machine with an old CRT TV.
You can use the composite output (in the PI2 integrated with the sound in the the Jack connector), you will need a special cable for it, be sure it will work with the PI before purchasing.
For better image quality, I am trying to connect the PI to the CRT through the RGB connection in the SCART of the TV. For this I need a HDMI to VGA adapter and after that, a VGA to CGA downscaler to convert the 31kHz VGA signal to the 15kHz that needs the CRT TV. I have bought both in Amazon, waiting for they to arrive. When I had tried them, I will post my opinión…
spaceinvaderParticipantAwesome!
Could you share it?
PD. I remember the sound effect, but don’t remember from what…
