shywolf28Participant
this is how my looks
shywolf28ParticipantI am dualbooting with Raspbmc, if thats how you are doing yours, then follow this way: We need to install advance launcher, two ways of doing this one you can go to terminal and type
wget http://www.gwenael.org/Repository/repository.angelscry.xbmc-plugins/repository.angelscry.xbmc-plugins-1.2.2.zipor download angelcry’s repository and do it through there, assuming you know how to install add ons..
First create RetroPie.sh(just copy that one that is attached and save it to home/pi/…..
Make it executable
sudo chmod +x RetroPie.sh
Now open Advanced Launcher
Select Default>>Standalone Launcher >>Home folder >> RetroPie.sh
Leave Application Arguments Blank, set the title as you wish, platform doesn’t matter, i chose Linux, i did not provide a thumbnail or fan art (just select OK)With that done I recommend you add the newly created launcher to your favorites to avoid having to dig for it every time you want to switch.
next create a new directory: sudo nano /media/RECOVERY/autoboot.txt
and type : boot_partition=5sudo reboot and you should have it…let me know how it goes
shywolf28Participantyou have to add retropie to the advance launcher in order to reboot straight into emulationstation..thats how i got mine to work
shywolf28Participantthat answers that, glad everyone is helping out
shywolf28Participantglad i could help
shywolf28Participanti didnt install the xboxdrv, what i did was go through retropie setup script.
log in to terminal as user pi password raspberr and then go to
cd RetroPie-Setup
sudo ./retropie_setup.sh
Go to option 3: Setup
then go to option 327 install xbox contr. 360 drvier (wait for it to finish and reboot)
See if that works
shywolf28Participantyou probably have old files there that you had downloaded before that are affecting the installation, i know thats what happened to me the first time i did it, i had to restore my image and start new again, that fixed it for me
shywolf28ParticipantDo this, navigate to /opt/retropie/configs/all/ and replace the retroarch.cfg with the one that i have attached. It has my xbox 360 controller for the emulators..see if that helps..let me know
shywolf28ParticipantThis is kind of a dirty way of doing it but just replace the file attached with this one, navigate to mugen64 emulator folder and place it there….side note, i would overclock your raspberry pi, runs smoother

shywolf28ParticipantGlad I could help
shywolf28Participantthis is how i have mine setup
shywolf28Participantas far as i know, you have to still have a subfolder to go into it..even though it says xbmc media player, once you click on it, it will take you to the subfolder again.
shywolf28Participantyeah you need to add permission to it, easiest way to do it is go to winscp navigate to the xbmc.sh and open up terminal and run
sudo chmod +x xbmc.sh
that should do it..
shywolf28Participanti installed it by going to home/pi/RetroPie/roms and creating a folder named apps
then edit sudo nano /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg and add this at the end of the </systemlist>
<system>
<fullname>Apps</fullname>
<name>apps</name>
<path>~/RetroPie/roms/apps</path>
<extension>.sh .SH</extension>
<command>%ROM%</command>
<platform>pc</platform>
<theme>apps</theme>
</system>next creat and edit sudo nano xbmc.sh
#!/bin/bash
sudo xbmcput this script xbmc.sh in the apps folder you created above
sudo reboot and it should be on your emulationstaion carousel
hope that helps
shywolf28ParticipantTo add xmbc start by adding this, store at /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mene.list
deb http://archive.mene.za.net/raspbian wheezy contrib
improt the key
sudo apt-key adv –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv-key 5243CDED
then update
sudo apt-get update
finally install xbmc
sudo apt-get install xbmc
hope that helps
shywolf28Participantnone taken, i guess i should of made it clear, but your answer is what i was getting at lol
shywolf28Participantits just a generic wireless adapter, retropie picks it up as a microsoft corp. xbox 360 wireless adapter..any kind will work really. Doesnt even have any model on it lol.
shywolf28Participantyes you do need one, doesnt have to be a microsoft wireless adapter though, i have a third party adapter and it works great on emulationstaion and the emulators
shywolf28ParticipantNo Problem
shywolf28Participantjerezer1985, i have attached that file for you, to make it easier though use a program called winscp, that helped me out alot during my setting of openelec and retropie
shywolf28Participantglad i could help
09/21/2014 at 17:25 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #73258shywolf28Participantcorrect, emulationstation by default has a theme file called simple already installed by default, if you would like, you can create a new one yourself (which is what i did) and you can change themes at anytime in the main menu of emulationstation.
shywolf28Participantgiorgio, if you are using mame4all like i am, you select a specific key to get out of the emulator, press tab to go into input general and look for UI cancel, thats the one you want to change and it will take you back to emulationstation carousel.
shywolf28Participantlol didnt let me attach it…see if it does it this way
shywolf28ParticipantDo this, navigate to /opt/retropie/configs/all/ and replace the retroarch.cfg with the one that i have attached. It has my xbox 360 controller for the emulators..see if that helps..let me know
09/21/2014 at 01:25 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #72712shywolf28ParticipantDont know if you would like mine, but you can use this i made
shywolf28Participantunfortunately not yet
shywolf28Participantif your talking about setting up a wireless xbox 360 cotroller, do this—i setup mine this way and it works both on emulationstation and emulators..just go into terminal and type…
Sudo chmod +rw /opt/retropie/configs/all
Cd /opt/retropie/emulators/RetroArch/installdir/bin
./retroarch-joyconfig –o /opt/retropie/configs/all/p1.cfg –p 1 –j 0
Follow directionsSudo reboot
hope that helps..let me know
shywolf28Participantwhat exactly did you need help with?
