    You need to make sure you are using a retroarch version of mame (the ones beginning with lr-) I also found I had to switch the render res to 960×720 to line up with the OP’s overlays. But then it is amazing and has me even thinking of switching more over to retroarch as currently I use my arcade stick in mame (my Pi is built into a dreamcast arcade stick) and my controller in retroarch so that took some tweaking.
