Any suggestions on how to keep romsets organized in the arcade folder? Can you use subfolders?
quicksilverParticipantI have not tried it on the pi. I had tried netplay on the PC but the games always ended up getting out of sync and then crashing. That was a year or two ago so I dont know if it has gotten better over the last couple years.
quicksilverParticipantI would suggest removing the .cue extension from the es_system.cfg not the .bin extension. Will the game boot if you launch from the .cue file?
quicksilverParticipantBack in november microsoft released a firmware update for the newer xboxone controllers. I wonder if rolling back the update might solve the issue. However, if you still use the controllers for your xboxone this might not be the best decision.
I did recently update the controller. I have 2 of them and rarely play my xbox one anymore so I can dedicate one to the RetroPie. Any idea how to roll it back?

I searched a little bit on google but was unable to find a way to rollback the controller update. Assuming that the original xboxone controller works, your best bet may be to find someone that has one and trade controllers with them.

The ES forums are no help, unless you’re looking for viagra or cialis. lol

Wow, you werent kidding…
quicksilverParticipantAre you connecting via HDMI? More details on your setup would be helpful.
quicksilverParticipantIll have to check that out. Only problem with the built in scraper is that I have to babysit it otherwise it will mislabel things.
quicksilverParticipantI just ran Sselph scraper now that gamesdb is back up. All of the game info that was scraped is not showing up in ES. I made sure to killall ES before I ran the scraper. The scraper worked fine before I upgraded to 3.4. Has anyone else been having this issue?

Look at the section “Why Can’t I Insert Coins in Arcade Emulators?”
This solution worked for me.
quicksilverParticipantGood to know, thanks guys!
quicksilverParticipant
Honestly, I don’t understand why it isn’t in the first place. I mean, all my Gameboys were green/yellow, not black and white.
You are correct that the original Game Boy screen was yellow and black, however when the Game Boy Pocket version came out they upgraded the screen to black and white. Not trying to pick on you, just figured I would point that out ;)
quicksilverParticipantI wonder if you could use two receivers to connect more than 4 wireless xbox controllers? Like if you wanted to play 6 player X-men arcade for example. Would the two receivers conflict with each other?
quicksilverParticipantYou should be able to connect up to 4 wireless xbox360 controllers to one usb receiver. If you have already enabled the xbox driver, then by default two controllers will already be enabled. Simply sync your second controller to the receiver then map the buttons in emulation station just like you did for the first controller. The lights around the xbox guide button should even light up to correctly show which controller is 1st player and which is 2nd player.
quicksilverParticipantI think I may have figured it out. I think the problem may have originated from when I changed mega drive to Genesis in the system config before changing the theme to eudora. I believe this created some kind of dummy folder titled “genesis” that essentially linked to the roms in the “megadrive” folder. When the theme was changed to eurdora I think ES displayed both of these folders as separate systems. To fix this, I changed everything back in the system config to the default before changing to the Eudora theme.
quicksilverParticipantAs the scraper was scanning your roms did you happen to notice if the text on the screen was displaying errors? Tonight was the first time I ran sselphs’s scraper since upgrading to 3.4 and I noticed it returned an error for each and every game stating that the hash was not found. This occurred even with games that I have never had a problem scraping before. I wonder if we might be having a similar issue?
quicksilverParticipantIt does makes sense, thanks! However, the real problem is that ES is displaying the genesis system twice. Looking in the es_system.cfg I see that there are two system entries for sega genesis. I tried deleting one but upon reboot I got an error message stating the ES could not load properly. I will try to post a copy of my system config when I get home so maybe you can see where the problem is originating from. Thanks again!
quicksilverParticipantChanging it to tg16 in the theme xml file did the trick! Thanks for the help!
quicksilverParticipantCurrently the default (carbon?) I wanted to use Eudora but I had a problem with Eudora showing two sega Genesis systems in emulation station, couldn’t figure out why so I switched back to the default.
quicksilverParticipantAwesome, thank you both for the clarification!
quicksilverParticipantSo the 3.4 image that was just released today on the wiki page is not an official release?
quicksilverParticipantThis was happening to me, found that the bios files were no good. Try to find different bios files and try it again.
quicksilverParticipantThis is also happening to me as well. Emulation Station is detecting two controllers even though there is only one plugged in. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
