ParticipantAccording to the mame.cfg of 3.4 the path is:
samplepath=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-mame4all/samplespinion
ParticipantI’m finding the same Wills. Create the libretro.cfg and paste it’s contents into retroarch.cfg and the settings don’t seem to hold. V3.0

ParticipantQuite possibly but I think this might be the wrong forum given that its from the guy who made ES.

ParticipantI struggled with the older versions 2.x on an RPi 1. Got a RPi2 with 3.0 and it’s night and day, go for the beta, it’s way much easier.

ParticipantThanks Herb, yeah totally agree with you.
I started this project as a RPi1, then when I got a 2 I didn’t think it would be half as good as it was, it’s tremendous! So just wanted a quick out. Source based install kept most of my settings, so I’m on a new image now WITH BACKUPS :D.Thanks again for the help.,

ParticipantHi,
have you put roms in the /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx folder. .bin files?
Lets concentrate on that one for now, emu’s that don’t show up don’t have any visible roms.Thanks

ParticipantThe menu I was after is actually the retroarch menu, to configure it I uncommented the input_input_menu_toggle = 1 in the /home/pi/RetroPie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
Then I added an input_enable_hotkey value to the es_systems.cfg.
The buttons need to both be pressed to enter the menus.pinion
ParticipantCSU, are you by chance pulling roms from USB?
Just when you say missing roms, I did this, moved my roms to USB and edited es_configuration.cfg but it turns out you need to edit mame.cfg for mame4all as well because one config file pulls the ES menu to list the roms but the mame.cfg is the file used to launch the roms. It was still pointed at /home/pi/ and as such ES could list the rom but on launch it was hitting an empty directory in /home/pi.hih

ParticipantHave you looked up your supported HDMI settings for your TV or monitor and applied them to raspi-config?
# Set monitor mode to DMT
hdmi_group=2
# Set monitor resolution to 1024×768 XGA 60 Hz (HDMI_DMT_XGA_60)
hdmi_mode=16pinion
ParticipantMansome, back up. There is an easier way.
Download and install Noobs and use the whole SD card.
https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/When installing an OS, choose OpenELEC and Raspian. That way you can dual boot the system, have KODI on openELEC and build RetroPie on Raspian from binary.
You don’t need to compile anything yourself, I have that exact setup and it works great. Post here with any questions.
