petrockblogKeymaster
the joy2key code used for the menu wont be any use for ports.
petrockblogKeymasterit is changed to 755 on the repository now.
petrockblogKeymasterit means what it says – the file mentioned has been modified so it can’t overwrite it. “git reset –hard” in RetroPie-Setup to reset/lose your changes (or git stash your changes – git diff to show your changes). You must have edited the file on purpose or by accident.
petrockblogKeymasterDo you have an Amiga Kickstart installed & selected (or using the aros one?)
petrockblogKeymasterYou can move it (you would need to adjust the mame config). However I would consider calling it an eyesore an overreaction. Easier just to ignore it :)
11/08/2015 at 18:14 in reply to: Using Xbox 360 Wireless controller with Retropie 3.0- problem! #109399petrockblogKeymasterSecond item – /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg – I made a small typo – cofigs instead of configs – please check that one.
You didn’t run the 3rd command – you pasted the contents.
to run it, paste the commandline I gave directly into a terminal, dont try and show the contents.
11/08/2015 at 08:12 in reply to: Using Xbox 360 Wireless controller with Retropie 3.0- problem! #109379petrockblogKeymasterDid you update from an earlier version ?
What are the contents of /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads
and what is in your /opt/retropie/cofigs/all/retroarch.cfg
what happens if you drop to a terminal and run
/opt/retropie/supplementary/emulationstation/scripts/inputconfiguration.sh
petrockblogKeymastercan you name a specific game ?
petrockblogKeymasteraah, mame2010 didn’t work as libretro have just been changing stuff around I see (renamed the makefile). I need to update the script.
I assume desmume is broken due to upstream changes also – I’ll need to check further. You got unlucky with your timing sorry.
mame2010 isn’t particularly useful really on the rpi, unless there is a specific older game it supports that earlier versions don’t. It is significantly slower than earlier versions (as mame is built for accuracy not performance)
petrockblogKeymasterThis should be sorted now btw. You will need to re-install emulationstation from menu 5 of retropie-setup so as to get the latest scripts installed (after updating the retropie-setup script)
petrockblogKeymasterthere are full logs in RetroPie-Setup/logs folder (gzipped) which I would need to see to advise.
petrockblogKeymasterDid you read http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video_mode_options ?
to boot in DMT mode 16 you would add these to /boot/config.txt
hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=16
petrockblogKeymasterTo be expected I’m afraid.
petrockblogKeymasterThe post you have linked to is not “tweaks”, but a comparison of supported gles calls etc. For debugging.
10/30/2015 at 14:14 in reply to: SUGGESTION: attact-mode front-end as an alternative to emulationstation #108794petrockblogKeymasterWould make a nice alternative for sure – please could you add the suggestion to our github issue tracker and I’ll take a look when I get some time.
petrockblogKeymasterDid you google it ? (or other search engine of chocie)
First hit on google is
if you search the page for that line it says
hdmi_force_hotplug Pretends HDMI hotplug signal is asserted so it appears a HDMI display is attached hdmi_force_hotplug=1 Use HDMI mode even if no HDMI monitor is detected
10/29/2015 at 23:14 in reply to: New to RetroPie, Attempting to build a portable project but stuck!!! #108752petrockblogKeymasterNot sure if you are saying whether retropie initialy works or not ? if not – check image checksum with the one listed on the site – if it matches rewrite it – if not, then re-download (use the torrent).
if it does, then looks like you are getting some sdcard corruption after use or something.
petrockblogKeymasterPlease can I see a pic of the controller in question ?
petrockblogKeymasteranother problem is having select as a hotkey in some cores – I am going to look into possible workarounds for changing hotkey behaviour when I get some free time.
petrockblogKeymasterthere are lots of input problems with Retroarch – not sure anything will be done upstream. For example if triggering the hotkey to open the gui, it should not then assume X has been pressed to open the search. Gizmo has submitted a new working fix to remove the search box, so if you update retropie-setup and rebuild from source it will be gone. I will recompile some new binaries as soon as I’ve had a chance to test the latest retroarch.
petrockblogKeymasterYou can just configure additional controllers from within ES, and they will all work then.
petrockblogKeymasteryou can just disable sounds in ES also from the gui config.
petrockblogKeymasterpetrockblogKeymasterGoogle “how to checksum a file md5” or something – if on windows there are gui tools. on terminal on linux you can use “md5sum [file]”
petrockblogKeymasterwell, the setup-script does not touch SDL when being updated, so it must have happened before, or after, or be caused by something else.
petrockblogKeymasterDid you compare the checksum ?
petrockblogKeymasterSDL2 somehow got removed – do you know how that happened ? updating retropie-setup script doesn’t do anything to sdl2.
10/28/2015 at 02:22 in reply to: [Solved][RP 3.2] 2 Axis, 8 button controller d-pad problems (iBuffalo) #108565petrockblogKeymasterI can confirm the problem too – apologies. I should have checked this change before putting out 3.2.
10/28/2015 at 02:20 in reply to: [Solved][RP 3.2] 2 Axis, 8 button controller d-pad problems (iBuffalo) #108564petrockblogKeymasterThere were some new config changes added, that may be the cause. Please edit
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg and remove the lines at the end
input_player1_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player2_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player3_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player4_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player5_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player6_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player7_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player8_analog_dpad_mode = 1
and see if that helps.
10/27/2015 at 19:30 in reply to: vice emulation – vertical screen issues with a lot of games #108541petrockblogKeymasterrpi1 or rpi2 ?
did try try with and without dispmanx sdl mode for vice ? (See retropie menu in emulationstation)
petrockblogKeymasterif it works lowercase then please do update the wiki page https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Playstation-1
petrockblogKeymasterI think it should be lowercase.
Check the checksum also
petrockblogKeymasterou need to copy the Atari 800/5200 BIOS files (5200.ROM, ATARIBAS.ROM, ATARIOSB.ROM and ATARIXL.ROM) to the folder /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS and then on first launch configure it to scan that folder for roms (F1 -> Emulator Configuration -> System Rom Settings)
then save the config and it should be good to go.
petrockblogKeymasterI brought up the forum rules as they mention being kind/civil. Gizmo did include a smiley, and was being friendly imho – your reply did not read as friendly to me :)
Now let’s all try and get on.
petrockblogKeymasterYou can try updating retropie-setup script and installing latest hatari from menu 5 in retropie-setup (new version since 3.1 image) – new emulator is built against SDL2 so it may work better (or not).
