Clean install of RetroPi & Emulationstation?
I might as well just try that.nosedeathParticipantMy Trackball works with AdvMame but then a bunch of games don’t work. Missile Command, Centipede, Millipede…all the ones that NEED a trackball don’t work for me. BUT. I’ve been using the .37b5 roms. I’ll give what you did a try. Thanks for following up on this.
nosedeathParticipantWelcome to hell. I have the exact same set up and I’m having the exact same problem. Only I’ve been looking for WEEKS for an answer!!
nosedeathParticipantIn my experiabnce. Mame4All works awesome. Easy to customize the buttons and 99% of the games worked. Now…Mame4All will not run a trackball I’ve been looking and looking for an answer. I want my trackbll to run for Centipede, Millipede, Tempest, Missile Command…games like that. Also I’m a Mortal Kombat fan, MK2 & MK3 won’t run either. I chose different emulators for Mortal Komabt, I went with lr-Mame4All. Works great. Only now I’m having a problem trying to configure the buttons. For my trackball games I use AdvMame but only Millipede works.
frustrating as all hell.
nosedeathParticipantThat looks great. Nice work.
nosedeathParticipantNice.
nosedeathParticipantBUMP.
I’m having the same problem.
nosedeathParticipantInteresting. Me too. What gives?
nosedeathParticipantbump
nosedeathParticipantI fixed it!
ok…what I did was manually added the player 2 configuration in the retroarch.cfg file. I’m sorry I can’t give you everything I did because my Pi isn’t hooked up to anything at the moment. So this isn’t exactly what I have but it’s pretty close.input_player2_up = u
input_player2_down = d
input_player2_left = l
input_player2_right = r…and so on for all the buttons. worked like a charm!
Now I just have to get my track ball to work and I’m all good.nosedeathParticipantI’m having the exact same problem. I’m using the iPac2 and my player 1 is ok but not player 2 only. Player 2 only works in mame.
nosedeathParticipantAMAZING!! Nice work.
nosedeathParticipantI was totally thinking about something like this…nice work. I love it!
nosedeathParticipantOk…Im sorry. I watched the whole video this time. Thank you for linking this.
I have a bit of work ahead of me.You rule Floob!
nosedeathParticipantThis is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! BUT…after I save it. I doesn’t load the configuration I saved.
nosedeathParticipantOHhh I think this is it! Only he talks to soft…what keys is he pressing to get to the RGUI menu in game?
nosedeathParticipantYes….I use that but it seemed like the way through RetroArch you could fine tune each emulator. Can I set up the buttons somewhere in there too?
nosedeathParticipantI just watched the video…Very nice, I like that a lot. Ya I’d love to see what you did. Now I’m not very Linux savvy so go easy.
nosedeathParticipantPlease someone have an answer…This is my favorite game ever!
nosedeathParticipantI was told the Pi can’r handle the newer 3D stuff. Like killer Instinct.
nosedeathParticipantOk, I got this from the “http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/Using_RetroArch”
“You can also set the libretro path using the RGUI. In Retroarch, go to Settings -> Path Options -> Core Directory and navigate to the appropriate folder. If you set everything up correctly, you should see the cores when you select the Core option in the RGUI.”
I tried all that but still no cores. I wonder if I have to start from scratch?
nosedeathParticipantBah I double posted this. Sorry about that. I couldn’t rememebr if I started a thread or not. Can someone deleted the other post I have?
But.
I still haven’t figured this out. So far all the games work and everything is running smoothly but I just can’t configure the cores through RetroArch.I want to adjust the screen size and overlays and what not but no cores show up? Anyone?
nosedeathParticipant“Are you seeing a rainbow coloured square in the top right corner of the screen whilst playing? If so then you are having power issues, i.e. your Pi is not getting the power it needs to perform from your power supply.”
That’s what that means? I get the raindbow too. Everything seems to run fine though.
I’ve been running off the USB port on my computer. Maybe I should run straight off an outlet?nosedeathParticipantPlease make it so!
nosedeathParticipantsselph’s scraper is AMAZING!! Use it. so much quicker. It had just about all of them too.
Thanks sselph!
nosedeathParticipantSo there’s no Killer Instinct for the RPi then… Damn! I love that game. I guess I’ll just stick with SNES port.
nosedeathParticipantStill can’t load cored from retroarch. There isn’t any to load in the directory.
nosedeathParticipantDidn’t work.
nosedeathParticipantOk so you have a HDMI Box…I had an HDMI CABLE to Component no box.
nosedeathParticipantThat’s absolutly awesome. I’m working on a bar top arcade myself.
nosedeathParticipantAhhhh CRAP! I knew that! I don’t remember if I took it out or not. I’ll have to check when I get home. Thanks duder.
nosedeathParticipantI had the EXACT same problem. I just started over again from scratch and it worked. Also if your trying to use a HDMI to Component sigle cable and not a converter. That doesn’t work. Digital doen’t cross driectly over to Analog you’ll need a powered converter. I found that out the hard way.
