I am using the latest retro pie, a build from a week ago, for some reason it won’t auto configure any controller after you set up one type, I have a buffalo controller and it was what I configured first, it see’s that one fine. But plug in the Logitech F710 and it doest do the auto recognize at all. Even with the keyboard and other controllers unplugged. The older 3.0 version did, kind of strange….
nickademusssParticipantJust to follow up for the searches later, I found that most of the games would only work with JOYSTICK 2 selected, and it would let me map the controller that way and play the games. Kind of odd, but theirs like 5000 games out there for the C64.
Oh and If you don’t setup a keyboard to navigate in EM, VICE won’t see it either.
nickademusssParticipantI have the exact opposite issue, keyboard is the only way I can navigate ES, my PS3 controller only works in the games. I have run the retroArch setup and it didn’t make any changes. Mine also wakes the system up with the PS3 controller so I know it “sees” it in the ES menu….
Very weird…
nickademusssParticipantthats just weird, I wonder if its because I am using a PS3 controller?
Also, during ES startup it doesn’t auto recognize my wired controller. Even with the keyboard unplugged.nickademusssParticipantvery odd, I got a few keyboard input to work, could you post your cfg file for videopack ?
nickademusssParticipantcan’t get any controls to work with this one yet, kind of the same boat as you…
I can get each game to load and the keyboard key “!” will start a game but I cannot get my ps3 controller to do anything after that…nickademusssParticipantwell this is weird, if I connect my usb keyboard it the bluetooth works fine on start up. unplug the keyboard and it takes 3-4 startups…
weird.nickademusssParticipantI had this issue when you use the PS3 to charge the controller, it re-pairs the controller to the PS3 and you have to run six pair again.
My issue at the moment is the pie doesn’t start my blue tooth controller every time, like the third start up it tries to start the controller….nickademusssParticipantMany thanks for the reply, that was very helpful, I do have the controller working now in the games, but I still can’t get it to work the menus, is there another place the menus need to be mapped for this to work?
