It looks like an issue just involving this specific brand of controller. I helped walk another dude having trouble through the exact same steps I did, but he got his working after that.
I’ve just been playing on one controller, too cheap to get two of another type.
natedgreat3ParticipantUsing 2 of these controllers:
Can get one to work, but not the other (in default RetroArch, in PiSNES they do work). Have tried both registering a retroarch controller and setting them up via retroarch.cfg. Any idea what could be wrong?
natedgreat3ParticipantTry removing the _btn from both the entries, as per comments in the retroarch.cfg file:
# Saves state.
# input_save_state = f2
# Loads state.
# input_load_state = f4If that doesn’t work still in USBGamepad.cfg, try adding it back into retroarch.cfg as well.. couldn’t hurt at this point =P
I have not actually tried a Save/Load state on my end yet.. still hung up over this 2 player issue heh. I’ll try tomorrow and see whether mine works.
natedgreat3ParticipantAnd you are holding down “Select” while pressing on the Right bumper to save… holding down “Select” while pressing on the Left bumper to load, correct?
natedgreat3ParticipantOkay… so I think that actually dumps the button mappings into /home/pi/RetroPie/emulators/RetroArch/configs/USBGamepad.cfg
Append your savestate mappings to that file and maybe it’ll work.
Can you also post what your file looks like with 2 controllers? I’m having my own issues… 1 SNES controller works but the other doesn’t… but I followed ZSprawl’s 2.3 setup guide which did not mention registering a controller that way. Maybe we can both help each other out =]
natedgreat3ParticipantHow did you set up your controllers? I don’t see any controller button mappings defined in your config file. If they’re defined somewhere else, you would probably need to copy your save state mappings over there.
