09/14/2014 at 23:45 in reply to: so I have all these files in one game file which belong and which do not w/pic #65561lunarkingdomParticipant
so far I have removed all of the ._files as well as the read me files, doing a scrape now.
lunarkingdomParticipantif you put in a usb memory stick retropie will make a folder called “roms” that will have folders inside for all emulators, all you do is pull it out, hook it up to your pc and ad your rom files in the correct folder and re-insert it into the Pi, it will take a while depending on how many roms you added then restart your Pi and the ones that are compatible will show up, if you do not add any roms to an emulator it will not show up.
09/14/2014 at 04:54 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #64763lunarkingdomParticipantThat did it, I am pretty sure the problem was in es_system.cfg I had this for apps but I went back and reinstalled the way you described in your post and it worked perfect:
<system>
<fullname>apps</fullname>
<name>APPS</name>
<path>~/RetroPie/roms/apps</path>
<extension>.sh</extension>
<command>bash %ROM%</command>
<platform>apps</platform>
<theme>appS</theme>
</system>when I should have had this:
<system>
<fullname>Apps</fullname>
<name>apps</name>
<path>~/RetroPie/roms/apps</path>
<extension>.sh .SH</extension>
<command>%ROM%</command>
<platform>pc</platform>
<theme>apps</theme>
</system>Thank you so very very much, please for the sake of others write a tutorial and load the files to mediashare.com so others can bask in the glory of this mod, so sick man can not thank you enough rromo12!!!!!!!!
09/13/2014 at 17:56 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #63779lunarkingdomParticipantso I added and modified the files and it did not work BUT I remember in previous modifications to this build when I added a folder I had to go in to the specified folder and do a sudo command to initialize the folder, did you have to do this on your build? I am 99% sure I added everything properly.
09/13/2014 at 17:08 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #63746lunarkingdomParticipantThanks romo working on it now! Really appreciate your help!

09/13/2014 at 04:31 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #63374lunarkingdomParticipantgot past it using filezilla, how do I modify the icon .svg file? thats about all I have left to do ;-)
09/13/2014 at 02:41 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #63309lunarkingdomParticipantgah so frustrating, any easy tutorials on accessing your files or at the very least how to read write a fat32 usb memory stick for it?
09/13/2014 at 01:15 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #63249lunarkingdomParticipantIdeally if I could open the files on my iMac via sd card that would make it a breeze
09/13/2014 at 01:12 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #63247lunarkingdomParticipantI am having trouble adding and removing anything in the linux file system, I was going to just copy the folder and paste it to my thumb drive in file manager in startx but it does not recognize my fat32 thumb drive or any of my sd cards, reading up on compatability with iMac using mac os and seems complicated, how are you guys doing this?
09/11/2014 at 17:42 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #61488lunarkingdomParticipantyeah nice theme dude! Yours also has zero artwork 9page is all white) when you select the apps section you created, this is what I am referring to. It looks so bland I would love ot be able to add artwork to this so it looks more natural!
09/10/2014 at 06:00 in reply to: So I added an APPS section to emulation station how do I add artwork #59449lunarkingdomParticipantinput appreciated!
lunarkingdomParticipantahhh nice, tip for those trying to do this do yourself a favor and use all lowercase for “apps” in all of your entries, I could not get mine working because my folder was named “apps” but the cfg file was calling for “Apps”
lunarkingdomParticipantwas a typo that kept me from accessing it lol
08/19/2014 at 05:16 in reply to: player 2 joystick and select button not working in psx but work in ES and mame #37476lunarkingdomParticipantyeah I have scoured the tetrarch.cfg and it is set up properly as it works fine in all other emulators but PSX, I will try this in the next day or so, thank you for the input, just in case I dont find it, what is the code to copy the tetrarch.cfg file into /opt/retropie/configs/psx/
08/18/2014 at 08:51 in reply to: player 2 joystick and select button not working in psx but work in ES and mame #36618lunarkingdomParticipantBump to save my remaining strands of hair!
lunarkingdomParticipantBump!
08/14/2014 at 18:36 in reply to: player 2 joystick and select button not working in psx but work in ES and mame #33450lunarkingdomParticipantI will be bald very soon ;-P if I keep pulling my hair out…
lunarkingdomParticipantany help would be appreciated!
08/11/2014 at 17:22 in reply to: player 2 joystick and select button not working in psx but work in ES and mame #30748lunarkingdomParticipantCan anyone shed some light on this?
lunarkingdomParticipantsudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
save by using control and x, then y for yes, then enter for filename (make sure you don’t accidentally hit a key and mess it up)
08/09/2014 at 23:29 in reply to: hum in sound from Pi, using dc to dc step down converter, what do you use #29471lunarkingdomParticipantjust ordered 12 pieces of Power Magnetics Radial RF Chokes 1000uH (1mH) , 300ma, 1.5Ω I was told to use 1 to 4 in parallel on the positive leg out to get rid of the noise from an electrical engineer I know. I will add one at a time till the noise goes away.
08/09/2014 at 22:24 in reply to: player 2 joystick and select button not working in psx but work in ES and mame #29445lunarkingdomParticipantBUMP for having figured out it is PSX only problem and player 2 joystick and select button work in all other roms, emulation station and mame. Is there a way to make a .cfg folder for the psx folder to fix this?
08/09/2014 at 07:12 in reply to: player 2 joystick and select button not working in psx but work in ES and mame #28929lunarkingdomParticipantAnyone? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
lunarkingdomParticipanttry this to see and edit your retroarch config file:
sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
I tried to view it same as you and could not see it either until I tried this.
say you wanted to search a folder, lets use the “/all” folder for this example, so enter this folder you would type:
cd /opt/retropie/configs/all
then hit enter, then to search this folder you would type:
ls
then hit enter, which will show you the files inside that folder, “ls” I believe stands for list. hopefully this will help you navigate in the command line, I am not sure why it does not show up in file manager like I said this got me stuck for a bit too before I was shown what I just shared with you ;-)
lunarkingdomParticipantI did not change rom folders, I use the appropriate one for playstation 1 I use psx etc. Each rom file after I unzip has a .bin file a .cue file and a readme.html file, they also usually have a capitol letter in the file like “Omega Boost” but this would not explain why the larger psx files (350-550mb) have triple listing though would it? I also noticed some of the games that do not work were listed 7-10 times as if the software tried to install them multiple times and failed. I deleted these but you see what I mean.
lunarkingdomParticipantIt would be awesome if we had XBMC included in emulation station, I have to use 2 separate microSD cards to achieve this now, I would love to have an all in one microSD card, keep us updated on your progress please!!
lunarkingdomParticipanthit F4
type: sudo raspi-config
try enabling (or disabling) overscan and see if that helps, worst case it does not work just disable it again using the same code to access the setup screen. There are other harder ways to correct this but lets try the easiest first and see if it works.
lunarkingdomParticipantThe picture resolution for the NES is 256 x 240 so they should look crappier LOL if not might have to do with scaling to a larger screen?
lunarkingdomParticipantI dont believe you are doing anything wrong as 320×240 resolution looks like crap on your 1080×720 screen, I felt the same way when I booted it up so I googled the resolution thinking it would have been 640×480 but it is only half that so that is why it looks like it does.
lunarkingdomParticipantAs long as I play this one they work fine:
./Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
./Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
./Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
Tony Hawk’s Pro SkatinglunarkingdomParticipantThe larger playstation ones are listed twice or 3 times based on size:
./Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
./Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
./Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skating
Tony Hawk’s Pro SkatinglunarkingdomParticipantPlayStation games were rendered in a 4:3 ratio at 320×240 resolution.
lunarkingdomParticipantI believe there is a way to put an emulator specific config file in the emulator specific file so you can say use a ps1 controller with psx and a nintendo controller for nes but someone with a little more knowledge will have to chime in on this. I assume you can copy your tetrarch.cfg file and put it in there then rewrite it like you have shown BUT like I said I have not done it so lets wait till someone who has can share the knowledge.
lunarkingdomParticipantI still use Tab on my keyboard to open the control panel in MAME I have however put my start and select buttons on my player 1 controller to the coin 1 and player 1 functions and on player 2 joystick to the coin 2 and player 2 functions, the Tab key is still on my keyboard though but after it is all set up there is no need for it to be on my controller.
