lolerzzParticipant
Yeah, sure, just get some software like partition wizard, delete all partitions on your SD card, format it in Fat32 and then re-image it ;)
lolerzzParticipantI’ve used the same image and the retropie_setup.sh file was in the folder RetroPie-Setup. So what I did was:
cd RetroPie-Setup sudo retropie_setup.sh
lolerzzParticipantI just downloaded new image and recorded it onto SD card. Then didn’t touched anything :D Don’t update or install anything.
lolerzzParticipantUh, with snes you’ll have a hard time. While video on snes games is okay, music is HORRIBLE.
lolerzzParticipantYou can setup keybindings for each game.
BIOS for PSX is needed to prevent various glitches. I dunno about games you’ve tried, but I tested Final Fantasy Tactics, Armored Core and Castlevania SotN, all worked fine, with slight stutters on armored core but it was all acceptable.
Neogeo setup is a pain in the ass, and I won’t be much of a help there. Glad you got it working though. Have fun and if you have more questions feel free to ask here or in PM.01/10/2015 at 16:41 in reply to: Emu joystick configuration, may be assignment order (EmuStation & RetroArch) #84913lolerzzParticipantI think some emulators might require separate configuration
lolerzzParticipantOkay, the folder was totally empty. I’ve used source-based installation to compile EmulationStation again and it came back to normal. Going to leave the topic here if someone will have similar problem.
lolerzzParticipantOkay so things you do bad are at running retropie_setup, lemme go step by step with you, to the point where you set up your sontroller, okay?
Before you do retropie_setup, do sudo raspi-config and expand the filesystem.
Then reboot the RPi (this is important)
THEN you actually can go sudo ./retropie_setup.sh
There, you select Update Binaries and Update Setup
After that’s done, select the first option which is BINARY based installation
Then select “SETUP (only if you already did one of the installations above)” (this should be 3rd option if I remember correctly).
It’ll all install and reboot.
Now go back to raspi-config
Here (or in retropie_setup I can’t remember) there should be advanced options that allow setting up the controller. You’ll be asked to press correct buttons/analogs. Then after you do that the pad should be configured for almost all emulators. I dunno about the rest and second player – I think you’ll have to edit some cfg files to get second controller to work. If you’re using snes controllers through GPIO there is a setting for that in raspi-config or retropie_setup too. Hope this helps you a little… If you have more specific questions go on, I’ll try to help you more.lolerzzParticipantSorry, but what you wrote is kinda chaotic so let me confirm some things:
You got the retropie image on SD card
You expanded filesystem using raspi-config
You then started “sudo ./retropie_setup.sh”
After that you did either binary or source code installation, followed by a SETUP
If you did all of this then I don’t see any problems? ext4 error probably is connected to the SD card, maybe it’s corrupted or poorly prepared/written? Will monitor this thread and try to help you.lolerzzParticipantAre you using custom BIOS or you didn’t added any to the emulator?
lolerzzParticipantTiba, unfortunately (E) means it’s just european release, it’s not a real issue there, lots of games wasn’t released in europe.
lolerzzParticipantI’ll bump this thread because it needs to be solved. I have 32gb SD card and it’s nearly full so I think about expanding space by fileserver.
lolerzzParticipantwell, I have problems with almost every rom. Like Micro Machines on NES glitch on character choose screen. Lethal Weapon suffers slowdowns. Basically every game is like that. Also I’ve had psx emu work super good with 2,5d games like Castlevania and now for every game the audio is stuttering rendering listening to it impossible. It was after I’ve reinstalled retropie this like broke down or something.
lolerzzParticipantKitchuk, I’m on highest overclock setting with heatsinks. Game is 100% the speed of soundtrack is correct too it’s just that it’s off tune like if they didn’t tuned the instruments, it’s a total cacophony (ironically as the guy above has that username LOL
NES brief freezes question remains open.
lolerzzParticipantThanks for the explaination of SNES sound. If you could try to play a rom Doki Doki Yuuenchi at the end of first stage there are massive slowdowns with baloon monkeys and at the second stage where you ride roller coaster if you press b all the time for boost it cracks a lot.
…really there’s no way to get 100% accurate snes sound? ;/
lolerzzParticipantYou mean when you start up roms? It’s probably possible to set in retroarch.cfg
lolerzzParticipantNo I did automatic scraping as you said to do and every third game or so was messed up. Now I have to manually recrape everything
lolerzzParticipantBeware, do not download it.
Messed up my entire collection has to manually scrape everything now, goodbye few good days.lolerzzParticipantTHANKS!
lolerzzParticipantSame problem here, when I run rom and press f1 nothing happens.
lolerzzParticipant
You could go into es_systems.cfg and change the run command for you emulators from 1 to 2. That should fix it.
Where can I find this file?
Also I have another pretty major issue – PSX emulation seems really good for most games but I have problems with castlevania – symphony of the night. It worked well but I had to reformat card and now the sound is cracking sometimes, it’s really irritating and makes it impossible to enjoy the game to it’s fullest. It was working well on non-overclocked raspberry before and now sound is cracking even on overclocking. Any ideas?
lolerzzParticipantTried this method, doesn’t seem to do a thing. This basically resizes splash screen and games are still off screen a little.
lolerzzParticipantAre you closing emulator like you should? For me it doesn’t save unless I press start+select and close the game normally.
