ParticipantI use the set up method where you use the SD card to boot and then a USB drive to actually run everything.
For me the versions of the software on the sd card and the USB thumb drive weren’t the same. Once I made them the same the issue went away.
If you’re only using the SD card, which may actually be plenty on a pi2, this wouldn’t be the solution for you.
Make sure you controllers are plugged in before you turn it on.
And try search for your specific controller on the forums to see if anyone else got them to work.
I was using the iBuffalo SNES USB controllers.lightthief
ParticipantSo I tried this same thing.
But I moved it to a larger card.
Is there a way to resize the partition without deleting everything?
I tried this but it didn’t seem to work correctly.lightthief
Participantn00b question, but what do you use to view/open the logs?
will pico/nano open them?lightthief
ParticipantPossibly unrelated follow up question, can so,ething similar be implemented when moving in and out of games so no code shows?

ParticipantSo pardon my maybe dumb question,
Do splash screens play while other things load in the background or does emulation station loading not being till after the Splash screen.I’d been disabling it hoping to save a bit of time. But maybe it’s not saving me any time.

ParticipantSo if you already have a set up, how do you update/migrate w/o losing everything?
Got my rpi2 but don’t want to have to reformat everytime there is a new release.lightthief
ParticipantWhere are people getting their rpi2s from?
My order at Newark is just sitting there so far.lightthief
ParticipantHmm interesting. I”ll check it out. Thanks.

ParticipantNeeded to have the SD Card match the version on the USB stick.
Didn’t think that would be needed but that fixed it.lightthief
ParticipantYeah I have two of the I buffalo controllers attached at boot ipand neither are recognized.

Participant
I have you installed drivers?
I thought for emulation station it would auto detect?
Not sure where I’d get the drivers for this or how to install them.
Any pointers would be great.

ParticipantI tried different USB controllers. Same issue, so I guess it’s not just the xbox control.
It just sits at the initial set up screen, recognizes the controller but not the inputs.lightthief
ParticipantSuper crashy for me with those setting sadly.
Are you running the 360 controller?
My only guess is that it’s not getting enough power and I should get a powered hub.
