Glad I could help!
jbfortuneParticipantNot sure if this is the case for you. But for some reason, using the same pad the text no longer appears for me. Also. Instead of pressing select and r or l, I have to press r or l first, then select. As I said. The text doesn’t appear but if I save, then move, then load, I go back to the point I saved so it is working.
jbfortuneParticipantHey,
I managed to get it installed fine but it wouldn’t load on boot. All I did which I got from someone’s post on Reddit was put sudo modprobe mk_arcade_joystick_rpi map=1 into the rc.local
This now works fine. What problems are you having?
jbfortuneParticipantStill got this issue but kinda working around it. If you want to play FBA. I just make sure to not turn any of the pads on and then it works exactly how I want. Means only 1 player in FBA though.
I tried doing what was in here

Issue is, I don’t get the output he is getting. I tried using any unique identifier I could find from my output but sadly that didn’t work.
Maybe you will have more luck with it?
jbfortuneParticipantOkey doke, understood.
jbfortuneParticipantI’ve just paired the Nes30 and FC30 pro to mine.
The nes 30 (Not sure about the pro version) – I had troubles with but to be honest, I don’t think I was getting it into the right mode. Hold down the right shoulder button the start until the light flashes in pulses of 3. This is then right to be paired. Follow the rest of the Floobs guide and I don’t see how it can’t work to be honest!
The FC30 pro doesn’t need to be started in any mode. Just holding down the power should be enough. Again, once paired, remember to edit the
sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/10-local.rules

No idea what this file should look like though!
Thanks
jbfortuneParticipantSorry to bump but anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

That worked for me too! Thanks

I have this exact issue. It used to work on the 3.0 but the latest update won’t work!
Any one got any ideas?
Thanks,
Jason
jbfortuneParticipantOk, just me being dumb. Seems the Nes30 has several different mac addresses based off what mode its in. I was using Notepad to save typing out all the time and had the wrong Mac address in.
One thing I have noticed is, if I reboot and turn the pad on, it connects fine. If I shut down the pad whilst in Emu station and try to reconnect, it wont. It’s like auto connect only wants to work once.
jbfortuneParticipantLittle update, using the new command sudo bluez-simple-agent -c DisplayYesNo hci0 then my mac address doesn’t seem to work. Just sticks on the screen for ages!
jbfortuneParticipantHey guys, thanks for the advice.
I did in fact edit the file. Because I was inpatient I actually started my image again and tried the BT stuff first and it worked fine this time with me editing the file as the guide said! So maybe I added something in there in error on my original go, pretty unsure to be honest!
I’m probably going to start again tonight anyway and I will do it without editing the file at all!
Whilst I have you both in here as well, to save creating another thread. Last time I did my image, within retropie_setup.sh. My Setup / Configuration menu option had more things in to choose. Specifically the option to install Joypad configs. This isn’t in my current version and I have done everything I thought I did last time!
Could you let me know how I get this updated?
Last note, Floob, I have watched loads of your YT vids over the last few days, so thanks for them! I’m having fun doing this.
jbfortuneParticipantTo get to the command line, just press f4 in emululation station. That said. I don;t know if your instructions will work in it!
jbfortuneParticipantHi,
I had this problem and for some reason my es_systems.cfg file had lost some of the file extensions the emulators used. For example, it didn’t have in .smd under the Megadrive section meaning that although all my roms were still here, because they were .smd file extensions, it wasn’t picking them up. Adding this in worked fine.
I’ll add, I only had this problem when upgrading. If I did a clean 3.0 image it works without issues.
jbfortuneParticipantIf you go into the individual retroarch.cfg file locaterd in /opt/retropie/configs/nes and add in
input_player1_joypad_index = 0 <—– being the number of your pad (can see this at the bottom of the screen when loading a rom)
Save the file and try again?
