InsecureSpikeParticipant
awesome, what other systems are supported with mess on the pi?
InsecureSpikeParticipantyup, the power block is quite good! work great on my 2 retropie’s
InsecureSpikeParticipanti may too look into the uuid bit!
thanks!
yeah defo ext4! much faster!
InsecureSpikeParticipantthank you, enjoy
InsecureSpikeParticipantsorry try now
InsecureSpikeParticipantthe quality was not too good on that one mate, sorry
but for now i’ve made these
and i’ve added the rainbow one to there themes for now
InsecureSpikeParticipanti’ll make a theme and add it to git, and i’ll make extra logos, and put them on my wordpress
InsecureSpikeParticipantoh, no not yet, i’ll do that now! any choice in the logo i should use?
InsecureSpikeParticipantadded Vic 20 theme
InsecureSpikeParticipantguys is there a full list of Aspect Ratios of Systems?
and if add these to the retroarch configs will they be used as default? like the shaders & overlays?(as you can guess, i never got round to this in the end)
thank you
InsecureSpikeParticipantall I’ve done is point the es_systems.cfg to the USB drive, seems to work well enough for me, and it’s less hassle than creating symlinks. imho
also I did manually create all my gamelists so I have all artwork in the rom folder
InsecureSpikeParticipantyup, same as labelwhore
InsecureSpikeParticipant
ssh is enabled by default for the “pi” user on the retropie images. unless it’s been disabled should be no need to enable it
thanks for clearing that up buzz
InsecureSpikeParticipantno, its always been there, i just always enable it, when expanding the filesystem, setting the memory split & changing default password, not sure if it’s really needed to be done tho? but i do just incase
InsecureSpikeParticipanthave you tried enabling ssh via the raspi-config?
InsecureSpikeParticipantok, made a break thu!
i found another completely new SMW rom and alls good!
ok so this means even if all checksums etc are ok, the patch still may mot work, it just finding that correct rom! out of 6 SMW roms I’ve now tried to patch, only one rom has taken any patch addthanks for your input labelwhore!
InsecureSpikeParticipantthanks for the reply labelwhore,
I wonder if it’s the patcher I’m using?
although, all the non-snes mods run fine,
I’ll investigate more
InsecureSpikeParticipantI would suggest using a great little app called ApplePi Baker
http://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/raspberry-pi/macosx-apple-pi-baker/
and a sd card comparability list here:
although not sure how upto date this isInsecureSpikeParticipanthow are you writing the image to the sd card?
you’ll kinda know if you can re use it if yer Mac sees the sd card when you plug it in, if when you plug it in and it don’t see it it’s dead for good, and if it does see it can you not use the disk utility app to verify it?
oh this also could do with your card make & type too!!
InsecureSpikeParticipantwhat theme you using?
InsecureSpikeParticipantawesome!
InsecureSpikeParticipantno you don’t get a warning pop up or anything, but it’s a general rule/warning, changing themes may have adverse effects

InsecureSpikeParticipantthis is sweet!
great work!!01/21/2016 at 14:12 in reply to: Kid-friendly Retropie/ES (UI modes, favorites, hiding items) [B-TESTERS WANTED!] #114627InsecureSpikeParticipantsome theme development would be awesome! please, there’s a few things that need fixing & modifing.
InsecureSpikeParticipantyup, using that one at the moment, i just wondered about overlays, as i’ve not tried them yet, thank you for the replies
an overlay image is only for a specific native resolution. you can get a full screen 720/1080p scanline overlay but because each core would usually have a different native resolution (that is scaled up to 720/1080p), the lines will be in the wrong place.
retroarch shaders ‘know’ the core’s native resolution so scanline shaders should always line up. however, sometimes at the cost of performance. check out @davej‘s shader – https://www.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/new-crt-pi-shader-version/
InsecureSpikeParticipantok, i have some questions… please bear in mind my knowledge is very limited with shaders & overlays..
Is there a way of setting a scalene overlay, so that ALL emulators are covered?
as i’d like them on Spectrum, C64, Amstrad, Oric & Sam Coupe.
is there no way of using one of the 720p (my tv is that res) setting it to full screen some how, so as theres no need to set each systems resolution?
Yes, you can do any of the Retroarch based ones.
You can put this in the system based retroarch file – although it only applies the overlay – I’d need to know which system to change aspect ratio etc..input_overlay = /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/overlays/1080p_4-3/Scanlines_4x_1080p_Borderless.cfg input_overlay_enable = true input_overlay_opacity = 1.000000 input_overlay_scale = "1.000000"
InsecureSpikeParticipantyeah forget what i said, thunking of something else, sorry
InsecureSpikeParticipantnope to FBA, non working, sorry
the others are slow at the moment
InsecureSpikeParticipantthere is an Archimedes emulator I found the other day not had time to test yet, I also found an Electron one too,
Electron:
http://elkulator.acornelectron.co.uk
Archimedes:
http://www.marutan.net/rpcemuspoon/
actually, both have links on the BeebEm webpage, but not tried either
InsecureSpikeParticipantnot sure if it does??
InsecureSpikeParticipantflash a new card, and see if you can copy the folder over, may work, although I’m not sure what that folder contains, to be honest
InsecureSpikeParticipantcool ok I’ll try find some time to have a play, thanks
InsecureSpikeParticipantstill not tried this out yet..
are you on the most current coolcv_v0.6.3 ?InsecureSpikeParticipantwhat you using?
