Whenever we are able to find free time. Especially considering holidays
herbfargusMemberYes- at least all the emulators that require bios files.
FORUM RULES (ALSO ON POSTING IN REGARDS TO ROMS/GAME IMAGES)
herbfargusMemberIt’s been done already. Will be part of the next retropie release. Make a backup, do a full binary install. Delete the inputautoconfig.ini and reconfigure controllers from emulationstation Or

herbfargusMemberI vaguely remember using path to object or something with inkscape, there were a few things that took some tweaking but as rook said its not nearly as optimised as it could be.
herbfargusMemberThis might be worth a shot:
herbfargusMemberIt’s been a known issue for a long time. This is nothing new. It’s the reason the carbon theme is the default instead of the simple theme. You will always run into this issue anytime you have a unique wallpaper for each system, regardless of what theme it is.
if you want the tronkyfran theme to work, limit your systems and up your gpu split, or just stick to the pc for the tronkyfran theme.
As we don’t maintain emulationstation it is unlikely to be fixed anytime soon – if at all.
herbfargusMemberLikely you’ll finish before tronkyfran though ;)
herbfargusMemberJessie is not fully supported so you will likely run into issues.
herbfargusMemberit’s already been fixed and will be part of the latest retropie release (which will hopefully be in the next month or 2) but for now you can either do a backup, then do a full binary install, or you can manually edit your asplashscreen to look like this (you’ll also still need to edit the autostart script as well: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/dd6e871d8f2d652fc10aa06824a0182939301d69/scriptmodules/supplementary/splashscreen/asplashscreen#L21
the layer command essentially puts the video on the topmost layer in front of everything.
herbfargusMemberHow exactly did you set it to HDMI. Did you follow this page?

12/08/2015 at 21:33 in reply to: Neither keyboard or gamepad is working – stuck at welcome screen #111468herbfargusMemberI had a rubbish cable from china that gave me similar problems. Got a new one and it solved the issue. Also if you have a rainbow in the top right corner of your screen in definitely is a power issue.
herbfargusMemberI don’t understand your question. Save states save where you are in the game, but I don’t know how saving options work with rom hacks.
herbfargusMembersorry that was my fault, I broke the script when I was adding support for audio files, its been fixed now.
herbfargusMemberhttps://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation#default-hotkeys
I’m not sure about in game saves. It depends on the game and emulator.
herbfargusMemberAutoconfigs were depreciated by retroarch. They should be created when configuring through emulationstation or alternatively you can configure them from the rgui
For the usb transfer Read the documentation:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation#usb
herbfargusMemberThat is really odd as it should not do that. Do you have a Logitech f310? I know there is a weird bug with that one where you have to press the top right shoulder button to get it to work for some odd reason. But yes its good to make backups. Also might be worth checking out sselphs scraper if you haven’t already.
herbfargusMemberDid you try reconfiguring your controls from within emulationstation?
herbfargusMemberThere is also an option in the retropie menu in emulationstation to reconfigure your splashscreen.
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/splashscreen
herbfargusMemberYeah try a different set, I’ve also found that building from a full set yields better results than from just one or a few roms due to the whole parent clone thing, it can be a bit tedious.
herbfargusMemberIt’s depreciated. Configs are automatically generated from emulationstation now when you configure input, or alternatively you can use the RGUI.
herbfargusMemberDid you rebuild any of your romsets?
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Managing-ROMs
herbfargusMemberYes.
herbfargusMemberDid you uncomment it?
herbfargusMemberWell, aloshi got a real job and hasn’t touched it since. I wouldn’t call it dead per se, but definitely at a full halt for the foreseeable future. Ideally we don’t want to have to maintain it as retropie would prefer maintain the emulators, but lately we’ve been thinking we may have to do some things to keep it up to date with our development.
I’m not against any ideas that would lead to improvement, and if someone is willing to donate their expertise then by all means its worth a try.
herbfargusMemberJust trial and error, just make sure you leave enough cpu for the system to run otherwise it won’t work. Probably shouldn’t go over 512 with a pi2. Might want to make a backup first just in case you accidentally mess it up (I’ve done it a few times ha ha)
herbfargusMemberYou need to increase your gpu split
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Advanced-Configuration#cpugpu-split
The pi can only handle so much with the way emulationstation is coded, so it has limitations on the amount of unique backgrounds before it freezes up (hence why we made the carbon theme to address those issues that were persistent with the simple theme or any theme with unique wallpapers.)
In the future I’m going to look into attractmode as an alternate frontend to see if I can clone the same themes from emulationstation and see if there is any better response from it.
There may be ways we can optimise the images somewhat to shrink the file size a bit but there is only so much you can do short of a more powerful processor or recoding emulationstation.
But as a theme on the PC it should have no issues.
herbfargusMemberYes it will be changed (at least the colours will, I’m still deciding)
herbfargusMemberIt’s coded to js0 so whichever button corresponds to 0 on your gamepad. It differs depending on what type of gamepad whereas any key on a keyboard will work.
herbfargusMemberDid you follow this guide?
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation
This should answer your first 2 questions:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/runcommand
and as far scraping goes have you made sure all processes of emulationstation are killed before you scrape?
herbfargusMemberI guess that solves it. Looks like I need to make a tweak upstream.
herbfargusMemberYou have to log in as root in winscp to delete files that are owned by root.
herbfargusMemberIt just updates the latest changes to retropie, but its possible some configurations may be overwritten, but most are easy to do again provided you haven’t made too many customisations. A full binary update is essentially the latest release of retropie.
