You don’t. Unless you know how to edit the source code and recompile it.
herbfargusMemberYou can try a diff video plugin or overclocking:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/runcommand
But other than that it will be hit and miss. N64 emulation has always been problematic.
01/06/2016 at 16:35 in reply to: Is it possible to use multiple mame cores on a game by game basis? #113261herbfargusMemberYou could try sselphs scraper:
herbfargusMemberCompatibility list is on the wiki page here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/psp
And i set it up so it can be edited by anyone.
Which games are missing from the list?
herbfargusMemberConfigurations for it have to be set up with a keyboard due to the emulator, but it may be possible to look into the command line options for the atari800 and might be able to launch games from a script with joypad configs, (much like others have done for some dos games) but I haven’t looked into myself that much tbh.
herbfargusMemberAtari800 is the emulator and it emulates many platforms just as gambatte emulates both GB and gbc.
The Atari 5200 should function in the same way as the Atari 800 as its the same emulator.
(If we really wanted to be picky we could split it out to the XE, and all the other 8 bit variants)
herbfargusMemberProbably a bug with your adapter/controller – check connections, its happened to me on occasion as well and I just had to press a button on the dpad to stop it scrolling. Usually it happens more with cheaper knock off type controllers
herbfargusMemberAlso in the official documentation:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/scraper#scraper-not-saving-manual-edits
herbfargusMemberherbfargusMemberShouldn’t take more than a few minutes
herbfargusMemberWell for starters the seller you bought it from is selling retropie illegally, you could have saved some money and made it yourself with about the same level of effort seeing as retropie is free.
I don’t care much for people who profit off of our work.
1: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Commodore-64
2: try messing with retroarch setting s (video_smooth=true or something close to that in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg) also mess with you TV settings
3: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Managing-ROMs
herbfargusMemberAlways appreciate the feedback :) i look forward to your contriubutions
herbfargusMemberIt loads in the background, that’s what the wiki page explains, omxplayer renders on the highest layer in front of emulationstation while it loads up.
herbfargusMemberRetroarch is currently porting reicast but its not done yet. And yes mupen64plus has a libretro core port as well. We keep both with retropie because the harder systems to emulate typically perform better with the non libretro builds.
herbfargusMemberThere is also an option in the retropie menu to show your IP but I typically just use the retropie hostname as its easier to remember
herbfargusMemberssh only works if you have the pi connected to the same network as your computer you are accessing it from and if you have no video output you need to connect it over ethernet as a wifi dongle will of course need a screen to configure it.
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/ssh
check the usual wire connections, tv settings, sd card, etc.
herbfargusMemberthere is no rgui for reicast because its not a retroarch core (yet)
herbfargusMemberYou can press select in emulationstation and delete roms individually or you can delete them in the backend over samba shares but be careful as some of the non working files you may be deleting may cause other roms to be nonworking if they are a clone of the non working parent (confusing I know.)
herbfargusMemberI can’t remember, but I think it may be possible to do button combinations, if not you may just need to have a controller with enough extra buttons to be your dedicated hotkeys for saving, exiting etc.
I honestly haven’t touched mame in months so take my advice with a grain of salt
herbfargusMemberI typically extract all roms except the arcade based ones (e.g. mame, fba, neogeo)
01/01/2016 at 23:21 in reply to: Can I scrape roms with Emulation Station on PC and transfer to the Pi? #112885herbfargusMemberPersonally I prefer to keep the images and gamelist xml files in the rom folder so I can just copy them over each time without needing to rescrape each time there is an upgrade
01/01/2016 at 22:35 in reply to: Can I scrape roms with Emulation Station on PC and transfer to the Pi? #112878herbfargusMemberSselphs scraper doesn’t take much time:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/scraper
But yes its possible. There is a downloaded images folder with all the images and gamelist.xml files for each system and then you can just copy them over the ones in /home/pi/.emulationstation I believe.
Might want to make a backup first just in case and also make sure emulationstation isn’t running otherwise it will overwrite your changes when you exit emulationstation.
If you need help setting up the pc see this video:
herbfargusMemberPlease use pastebin for large config files, it keeps the forum cleaner and easier to read.
As far as your hotkey predicament advmame and mame4all are not libretro cores (i.e. they don’t have a retroarch config file and thus dont follow the same hotkey configurations)
Use tab on a keyboard to configure controls.
It’s in the documentation:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/mameherbfargusMemberDid you follow this guide?
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation
01/01/2016 at 09:24 in reply to: Friend wants retropie can I copy my SD card put in new Ras.Pi? #112839herbfargusMemberYou can use win32diskimager to essentially clone your SD card
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Updating-RetroPie#making-a-backup-option-1
herbfargusMemberPress tab to configure mame controls for mame4all. It’s explained on the wiki page
herbfargusMemberIt’s a bios and has the same legal standing as roms I.e. you’re on your own in finding it.
But If there are no roms in the folder they wont show up in emulationstation. You may need to use the cp command if they aren’t transferring from your usb. Or just use samba shares.
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation#transferring-roms
herbfargusMemberAre you sure the roms transferred over? Which rom folder did you put them in? There are 3.
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/MAME
Also did you refresh emulationstation with f4 or quitting emulationstation from the start menu?
herbfargusMemberhttps://github.com/HerbFargus/es-theme-carbon/blob/master/carbon.xml#L74
Should be in
/etc/emulationstation/themes/carbon
I believe if not its in
/home/pi/.emulationstation
12/31/2015 at 00:19 in reply to: No option to configure joypad in Retroarchinput, only keyboard #112754herbfargusMemberRetroarch removed it, not retropie. It was merged into the RGUI and functions essentially the same way.
herbfargusMembermost emulator specific pages on the wiki that aren’t part of retroarch specify the controls specific to those emulators, including how to exit.
herbfargusMemberAre you sure you picked the correct sd image for your version of raspberry pi? How many raspberries does it show when it boots up?
