gonzothegreatParticipantgonzothegreatParticipanto, so how can i change the permissions so i can set the drive to read/write so i can add files via filezilla mac.
oh, symlinks i’d be interested in using those too, but have no idea how
thanks
gonzothegreatParticipantyup gettin the same problem
gonzothegreatParticipantyup i back up my sd card, but I’ve not found a good way of backing up my 128gb flash drive via mac.
gonzothegreatParticipantI’d suggest using FileZilla, as cyberduck is extremely resource hungry!
gonzothegreatParticipantyeah I’ve run from USB for ages, but I’m thinking of only having roms on there it’ll make things much easier & safer if I keep the file system on the sd card
gonzothegreatParticipanta guide for this would be good!
gonzothegreatParticipantthats odd then, well I’ve not used it since the updated to 3.2, well its fixed now,
gonzothegreatParticipantno buzz, like I said, I updated the setup script, rebooted then the problem occurred
gonzothegreatParticipantfixed! i found these files on my other setup..
libSDL2_test.a
libSDL2-2.0.so
libSDL2-2.0.so.0
libSDL2-2.0.so.0.2.1
libSDL2.a
libSDL2.socopied them over to the one with the errors and bingo!
gonzothegreatParticipantI had this a long time ago, it was a typo in my game list, but you say yours is ok?
gonzothegreatParticipanthow are you trying to add?
you should be dropping it in the
/home/.emulationstation/themes
then you can select under UI setting via the menu
(edit: if your adding manually)
gonzothegreatParticipantawesome!! thank you!
gonzothegreatParticipantvery true
gonzothegreatParticipantruns from usb
gonzothegreatParticipanthave you tried with a Y cable?
thats what you need, i just looked at my retropie & my OpenELEC and both are external hdd’s using a Y cablegonzothegreatParticipantyou can use a normal Pi sower supply (altho you may need to buy a Y cable via eBay) for the following..
via command line..
sudo nano /boot/config.txt
then right at the bottom add this…
max_usb_current=1
then press ctrl+x then Y then enter to save your edit
then restart you pi
gonzothegreatParticipantsadly not yet…
gonzothegreatParticipantawesome! that was great work!
i’ll try tonightthanks lots!
gonzothegreatParticipantyeah, i know buzz, thank you, i thought i’d post here too incase someone could help out? as i’m sure some of the community may not visit github
sorry if it looked as i have been impatient, that was not my intention
gonzothegreatParticipanti’d kinda prefere to be able to set some of the stuff up my self, it adds to the fun of it all, imho
gonzothegreatParticipantyou could just move the file system over to the hdd, with this guide..
if your using one of the 4 usb port pi’s you could also skip the usb hub and add this line
max_usb_current=1
to the /boot/config.txt
gonzothegreatParticipantawesome! works now! thanks! lookin good!
gonzothegreatParticipantcan’t see the pics of your theme….
09/11/2015 at 12:35 in reply to: Stuck in a reboot loop – /usr/bin/emulationstation: line 20 #105862gonzothegreatParticipantback up your theme, then delete it via ftp, then reboot via a terminal connection via yer computer
gonzothegreatParticipantok, thank you buzz
gonzothegreatParticipantyou can arrange them as you wish, if you use sub folders tho, gamelist.xml info will not show, like box art
gonzothegreatParticipanttheres a few….
i just really wanted one when they came out!
i was around 12 when they were available, wasn’t able to get one then, but the emulator will do nicely…gonzothegreatParticipanttype
emulationstation
gonzothegreatParticipantor if your on a Mac
http://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/raspberry-pi/macosx-apple-pi-baker/
gonzothegreatParticipanthow are you adding the files?
gonzothegreatParticipantyes indeed, you may find this helpful
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=589877#p589877
gonzothegreatParticipantcool, I’ll format the USB to ext4 and see what I can do, thanks man!
oh, what’s the best way to find the location of the drive? thanks
gonzothegreatParticipantok, there is a fix for this..
so start yer Pi as normal,
then when the EmulationStation config screen pops up, assign the buttons as well as you can.
next you need to set your retroarch config via the ES RetroPie menu. once that is done launch the RetroPie SetUp script.
now you need to select #3 Setup / Configuration (to be used post install) then scroll right down to the bottom if the list, select #331 Install XBox contr. 360 driver
now reboot.
now ES will ask you to assign the buttons again, and now the trigger & shoulder buttons should register
