ParticipantPi3 does not seem to be stable at all:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=139712&hilit=throttlegizmo98
ParticipantIt’s not possible. FPS counter needs to be ported to GLES.
gizmo98
ParticipantDoes it run?
gizmo98
ParticipantInteresting. Please try a source based installation over retropie_setup.sh. Even though this should only happen if you run retropie_packages.sh as user root. You could also rename this line by hand:
wrong
/root/RetroPie/roms/n64
right
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/n64

Participant@zerojay
Try this:
Close emulationstation with F4 and type…mkdir test cd test git clone --depth=1 -b mupen64plus-videocore https://github.com/gizmo98/RetroPie-Setup.git cd RetroPie-Setup sudo ./retropie_packages.sh mupen64plus emulationstation
Limitations:
-Only runs good if output res is Full HD
-Kills console keyboard input. Only important if you close emulationstation or want to use launch menu.gizmo98

It seems like you are smart enough to complain like a little child. As clever as you are you could provide a solution for your as easy to setup and maintain devices. All devs have experimented with alternative arm boards. No one really likes them. If more speed is necessary it is already possible to use RetroPie with an Intel compute stick or NUC or any other PC. There is a gap between rpi3 and a PC which could be filled with one of these arm boards. But no one wants to spend time for arm boards with bad driver support.gizmo98
ParticipantI will post an experimental retropie module this weekend.

ParticipantDo you User HDMI or Composite?
Please update Mupen64plus:
Press F4. Emulationstation closes.
Type:’
cd RetroPie-Setup
git pull
sudo ./retropie_packages.sh mupen64plus
emulationstation ‘gizmo98
ParticipantIt is a little bit faster but has more glitches as any other plugin. It has more compatibility issues as glesn64. But it dös Notaz Crash your Pi of you run Zelda games. ( But colors are wrong)
gizmo98
ParticipantDo you use audio sdl?

take a look here: https://www.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/some-things-ive-learnt-and-a-question-about-the-main-menu/
@tinygamer
The most cores do not use L2/R2. PRBoom should use L2/R2 for previous/next weapon actions. Does L2 work?gizmo98
Participant@buffering
Press start in emulationstation and select “input configuration”.gizmo98
ParticipantYou have to configure your controller once in emulationstation.
If controller configuration in emulationstation runs without problems correct retroarch input.cfg files should be created.
gizmo98
ParticipantHotfix. Not tested at all but seems to run better:
Press F4. Emulationstation will close.
Type…cd RetroPie-Setup git pull sudo ./retropie_packages.sh sdl2 emulationstation
Input configuration should work again.

ParticipantThere is definitely something fishy with rp3.6 + ps3 controller configuration. As it appears at the moment you can not do anything to work around this problem. So please stay calm and wait until there is a fix.
gizmo98
ParticipantVerified. It is not possible to configure a usb connected ps3 controller. But it is possible to use one if it is already configured. Strange. I will take a look.
gizmo98
ParticipantI have a PI3 as well and have no issues. But i still use an old updated retropie version. Haven’t tested a fresh rpie 3.6 installation yet.
gizmo98
ParticipantUsb connected? If you use ps3 controller without bluetooth remove sixad driver. The linux kernel has an builtin driver. Your PSU could be to weak.
gizmo98
Participantrpi3 + ps3 controller –> Run
sudo apt-get install pi-bluetooth
to install broadcom bluetooth firmware.gizmo98

ParticipantJust run input configuration in emulationstation. PS3 controller has an other device name if it is connected over bt. So it is necessary to add a configuration entry for wireless connections.

ParticipantMy baldur’s gate CD set consists of 5 CDs. Do you have baldur’s gate + extension?
It’s a experimental module! :D
gizmo98
ParticipantI didn’t thought of GoG versions at all. If you have it working please post config file so it can be added.
gizmo98
ParticipantI attached a copy of my install folder.
gizmo98
ParticipantSixad and bluetooth daemon cannot be run at the same time. So it is not possible to use NES30 and PS3 controllers at the same time without fiddling around. Raspbian jessies bluez package has builtin sixaxis support. But no one has written a raspbian guide to setup a ps3 controller over bluez.
gizmo98
ParticipantDid you try ps3 driver with shanwan controller support?
gizmo98
ParticipantSeems like all your CD data is located in /data.
Open /opt/retropie/config/BaldursGate1/GemRB.cfg
Change
CD1=$romdir/ports/baldurs1/
toCD1=$romdir/ports/baldurs1/data
.gizmo98
ParticipantSelect “Remove PS3 controller configurations”. This takes sometimes up to five minutes. Then install PS3 controller driver again.
gizmo98
ParticipantIt seems like the paths are wrong. Did you copy the content of your bg1 installation into /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/baldurs1? All those directories should be located there:

ParticipantPlease remove and reinstall ps3 controller driver. I have done some modifications which should hopefully fix your problem.

ParticipantSorry. I need to write a guide for gemrb. I tested BG1 and BG2 windows installations. So there is the possibility your linux install does not run out of the box.
Please post /tmp/runcommand.log so i can see if there is a problem with your file location or config file (/opt/retropie/configs/Baldurs Gate/GemRB.cfg). You could also google if nativ linux install data needs a deviant GemRB.cfg. There is a old gemrb thread you could take a look as well:
gizmo98
ParticipantOk. Ordered one.

ParticipantWhat is a 64Bit ARM7? A Cortex A7 is a 32Bit ARMv7 core. A Cortex A53 is a 64Bit ARMv8 core. There is nothing in between.
