Can you try from a clean retropie 3 beta 4, then just add
input_shader_prev_axis = “-0”
input_shader_next_axis = “+0”to the controller file it generates?
07/11/2015 at 03:15 in reply to: [SOLVED] Hotkeys configuration : Switch the shaders ingame (Retropie v.3b4) #101832FloobMemberTry changing
input_enable_hotkey = nul
to
input_enable_hotkey = altin your
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfgThen in game, hold “select” and check “m” and “n” work to change shader.
FloobMemberSo when you try J0a1, J0a2, J0a3 its all fine, but J0a4 doesnt do anything?
07/11/2015 at 01:34 in reply to: [SOLVED] Hotkeys configuration : Switch the shaders ingame (Retropie v.3b4) #101820FloobMemberCan you put on pastebin.com your file
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg?Also, I’m presuming you havent altered any system specific retroarch.cfg files.
07/10/2015 at 23:27 in reply to: [SOLVED] Hotkeys configuration : Switch the shaders ingame (Retropie v.3b4) #101817FloobMemberI know you’ve said you are using version 3 beta 4, but can you confirm the full path of the file you are showing above?
FloobMemberThere are also paths mentioned here if that helps:
FloobMemberThats really not a great way to do it as it hard codes all your settings.
If you installed 2.6.0 then did a binary update it may well have issues because of the major path changes. I would recommend starting with 2.6 and not updating it, or use version 3 beta 4. Either should do the trick.
07/10/2015 at 20:40 in reply to: Per-rom retroarch configuration – getting error in runcommand.log #101808FloobMemberI *think* this is a path issue in the retroarch loading function in the runcommand.sh script.
I have logged it here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/899I’ll see what the devs say.
FloobMemberCould you post up your gngeorc and jstest results?
FloobMemberIf there is a simpler way, please let me know!
FloobMemberDoes this help?
FloobMemberTry J0B8 for the hell of it.
Post up your gngeorc if not.
FloobMemberMaybe not easy, but this is what I do:
http://smartretro.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=58FloobMemberThats a very broad question. There are different romsets for different emualtors:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Managing-ROMsFloobMemberCan you confirm you are using the libretto mame4all – that’s what should see the config file above. If mame4all standalone doesn’t read it I’m not sure it will unless you changed the controller board in the stick. Don’t forget there are other arcade emulators on the Pi like fba and advance name and even gngeo.
FloobMemberhmm, what if you try this content instead
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=kmLCRvR8basically delete these lines
input_r_x_plus_btn = “9”
input_r_y_plus_btn = “9”
input_r_y_minus_btn = “9”I’m assuming you havent tweaked any of your retroarch.cfg files. If you have, please post those as well.
FloobMember[quote=101634]I’m happy to build parent only sets, but I’m also inclined to remove all the what I’d consider crud; quiz games, mahjong, puzzles, adult and gambling to name a few.
I think if we could agree in a base filter it would be a good start
[/quote]
That sounds good, like herbfargus says its unlikely people would want it, but maybe it could be mentioned in the meta data headers of the dat/xml file what has been removed so we can keep track.
FloobMember[quote=101620]
I went old skool and and just building a gngeo data now. I eye-balled it :)[/quote]
Is there a reason you chose gngeo over fba-libretro? I’m torn between the two. I like the lr-fba in that it will use RetroArch configs and overlays, but I could have sworn gngeo was faster.
FloobMember[quote=101564]
Floob as far as a lr-fba .DAT I found this list in the source codehttps://github.com/libretro/fba-libretro/blob/master/svn-current/trunk/gamelist.txt
There are about 2000 more games listed there than in the .DAT file currently listed for lr-fba and as far as .DAT files I’ve found them to be more preferable when they have merge data (like the two .DAT files I added for mame4all and pifba)
[/quote]
Thats an interesting mismatch. RGUI reports the fba core supporting FBA 0.2.97.30 which is what the dat file is generated from. Yet, as you say the gamelist in fba-libretro github lists more.
Ah! Maybe its because FBA supports more than just arcade, so you could technically use FBA to run Megadrive and PC Engine etc.. whereas the dat file provided was just the arcade side of things.
FloobMemberCan you send your controller file (post it on pastebin) – it should be here
/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/configs
Probably with a more recent date than the other files in there.07/07/2015 at 17:24 in reply to: HOWTO: Use datfiles to eliminate clones, etc, from Mame/FBA/Neogeo #101558FloobMemberAre you tempted to rip out the mahjong and pinball, lightgun games in Romlister as well?
FloobMemberThis looks great, thanks herbfargus.
I was thinking it may also be useful to generate a .dat file for lr-fba for NeoGeo, I’m finally thinking about moving to it from gngeo! (Still not convinced its as fast but maybe thats just me).As you say, Mame/Fba based romsets can be a very confusing topic, hopefully this will go some way to clearing things up.
07/07/2015 at 16:33 in reply to: HOWTO: Use datfiles to eliminate clones, etc, from Mame/FBA/Neogeo #101552FloobMemberThis looks really useful thanks.
Can you let us know what your criteria was when refining these in Romlister so we know whats been removed?FloobMemberWhich version of RetroPie are you using? Is it an image like 2.6.0, or did you build it from binaries/source?
FloobMember[quote=101494]Alternatively, if you have a way to SCP into the Pi, you can save the config after editing any settings in the emulator GUI, then just rename the new config file to “retroarch.cfg” through SCP. The default retroarch.cfg does not have the “save config on exit” option enabled, so it will unfortunately never save your settings unless you edit it manually or save a new config and rename it.
[/quote]
Do bear in mind if you do it this way it will affect the way retropie deals with the config files, so I wouldn’t suggest this unless you are comfortable understanding the effects.
FloobMember@thedigi321
Please could you post the new controller file that was generated and worked?
Should be in here:
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/FloobMemberIt can use either in that directory. You choose by pressing x as the game starts.
The default is the non libretro version
FloobMemberFloobMemberDoes this help?
FloobMemberCan you get the libretro version of mame4all working ok?
FloobMemberCan you backup the file
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/Twin_USB_Joystick.cfgthen delete it and make sure that directory is empty.
Then run the retropie-setup script and choose the register a retroarch controller option?That will write a file back to the directory above – can you try that one out (and post the file)?
FloobMemberNope, I’ve not setup Odroid for emulation before.
Here looks like a good place to start
http://forum.odroid.com/index.phpFloobMemberYes, thats true, some parents dont like to run, but I havent filtered those ones out. I think it would be a manual job given that the emulation status is reported as good. I have taken out the categories I wouldnt play like mahjong or trackball etc.., but it could do with a good manual clean really.
FloobMemberCan you try this code:
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=wcS7ekCwto replace what you have in your
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/Twin_USB_Joystick.cfgIts not ideal, but should check a couple of things.
Also a link to your controller will help.FloobMemberI’ve attached the filtered dat I used. It may not be for everyone but feel free to see if it suits you. From memory I stripped the clones (so no pacman unless you put it back – it has puckman instead) and I should have ripped the pinball/mahjong type games as well.
I’ll check out the game-config.txt issue later.
