drakaen391ParticipantSo ran a test on my system over clocked at 1300 currently and the hottest it got was 48c but only on heavy moments…
CPU at most hit 60%
I will say I have a custom built case with a wind tunnel type cooling system and heat sinks in the CPU and GPU
drakaen391ParticipantI am wondering the same… Got your PM…
Will reply with an easy fix in the morning
drakaen391ParticipantWhen emulation station boots up is where you change it
drakaen391ParticipantYou have to expand the system in Rasp config… Best to use a keyboard to navigate but I believe it’s the first option
drakaen391ParticipantThe Pi is underprotected in a way… You can build a case or buy one…
Though the thing is more resilient then most other computer components
drakaen391ParticipantI know the Pi foundation has said heat sinks are required for overclocking the pi3…
Could that have been an issue with the corruption?
drakaen391ParticipantWondering the same… And are you using any cooling system (heat sink/fan)
drakaen391Participant
Got all the pieces except the screws for the Pi board…
They temp is running under 100 degrees F at standard load… And only 91 at idle
drakaen391ParticipantRice seems to be unplayable so far in my tests… But I have been tweaking each game to get the best performance…
It’s time consuming, but a workaround
drakaen391ParticipantHaving this exact same issue… Only emu that works is lib and only Mario 64 is playable…
drakaen391ParticipantI tried putty and just didn’t like it as I am used to powershell…
It’s mostly a personal preference
Though writing a halt script for the pie is proving to be tricky (Linux password issues)
drakaen391ParticipantTried but still having issues, though Emulation station is not the correct resolution
drakaen391ParticipantFollowing to come back later as I have the same issue…
drakaen391Participant
I was using the latest RetroPie download for Pi2 and Pi3.
Starting with the latest Raspian and manually installing RetroPie script seems to have solved my issues with connectivity reliability at this time.
The previous RetroPie installation was originally used on a Pi2 but had been updated to the latest system and the most recent binary install of RetroPie.
So did you just transfer the SD card from the pi2 to the pi3?
drakaen391ParticipantThat’s how I have been testing because I see more as how well it plays…
And lag is actually easy to catch in the older games
drakaen391ParticipantIt might be a different port that’s used… For FTP and even SSL I usually recommend it’s on a dedicated IP on the router/modem and you connect using the IP and not a hostname…
Another option is if you on Windows or Linux is to map/mount it as a network Drive
drakaen391Participant
I tried it with virtual racer / fighter (they have timers in the game) and if they were off, it was about 1/10th of a second if i recall
i can retest it again sometime later again to see if its still there
1/10th is not that big of an issue…
drakaen391ParticipantThanks
drakaen391ParticipantIt didn’t look like to many control issues with the N64… I will be trying it out myself as it looks mostly playable…
Was this with the modified resolution or standard?
