charcoParticipant
In the RGUI menu in FCEUMM I just edited my buttons to have Y on my SNES pad act as B and B on my SNES pad to act as A. Then I turned Configuration per core to ON and Configuration save on exit to ON and then chose Quit RetroArch to save these settings. When I exited and booted up a NES game my buttons were saved to this new configuration.
I had experience with this previously on the Wii port of RetroArch and it worked so I figured I would try it on my RetroPie.
I also just tried this on lr-fba and changed my buttons for Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, now I can have my weak punches and kicks on the shoulder buttons and my mediums and strongs on the face buttons. Saves me changing them each time I boot up that game.
charcoParticipantI can’t seem to find where I need to change the hotkey button in my config. I am using an iBuffalo USB SNES pad.
charcoParticipantDamn, the Supergrafx appears on the menu with the roms listed, but it doesn’t launch the games.
EDIT: I checked the runcommand.log in the /tmp folder and found that it failed to extract the rom from the .zip file. I extracted the SuperGrafx roms and re-added them as raw .pce files and it now works. At least I am figuring stuff out on my own without annoying people on the forums :P
charcoParticipantAdded Turbografx 16 CD simple theme and it worked first time thanks to your guidance :)
Time for some Castlevania.
charcoParticipantD’oh! Thanks again, I will try to add PC Engine CD tomorrow evening :)
charcoParticipantSuccess! Thanks so much. What kind of wizardry did you do? Where had I made the mistake?
charcoParticipantHere it is, thanks for taking a look.
charcoParticipantI changed the permissions on the file, tried the file in both folders. Same error.
charcoParticipantNa I just cannot get this to work. It is saying I have an invalid config and won’t boot emulation station now. I have reverted to my previous config. Below is how I edited the config file. I edited it just like yours, or so I thought!
<system>
<fullname>PC Engine SuperGrafx</fullname>
<name>pcengine</name>
<path>~/RetroPie/roms/pcenginesupergrafx</path>
<extension>.pce .PCE .zip .ZIP</extension>
<command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ pcengine %ROM%</command>
<platform>pcenginesupergrafx</platform>
<theme>pcenginesupergrafx</theme>
</system>charcoParticipant
ok, goto
/home/pi
now make a new folder named
.emulationstation
now in that folder drop es_systems.cfg
and restart
Yeah, that folder is already there. The issue is I cannot move, edit, or copy my es_systems.cfg file that is located in /etc/emulationstation
EDIT: I added the Themes folder from /etc/emulationstation to /home/pi/.emulationstation
charcoParticipantNow I do not have permission to transfer my es_systems.cfg
KILL ME!!!
charcoParticipantIt worked! Thanks a million! I transferred the pcenginesupergrafx folder into /etc/emulationstation/themes/simple with no issues. Now I will add a roms folder for this system and edit my es config similar to yours to see if I can get it on my ES menu :)
charcoParticipantThanks, will try that this evening.
charcoParticipantIt seems to just let me change the password with that command, how do I change the username? Also, I am doing this from a terminal session on the Pi and not in any specified directory?
charcoParticipantNo joy. I use that command on my pi, enter a new password, retype the new password and get confirmation that it has been updated successfully. When I try Filezilla it does not connect with the new password but only connects with the old details User: pi Password: raspberry
charcoParticipantI plan on doing something similar for PC Engine CD and SuperGrafx so I might do that if I am successful with those. Thanks man.
charcoParticipantMy neogeo.zip is 1,404kb and you can see the contents of the directory in the image attached.
charcoParticipantWhat about FBA Libretro? I swear by it on my Wii and Windows.
charcoParticipantThanks, I’ll try that tomorrow after work :)
charcoParticipantYeah I got that, thanks. I am unable to move the SuperGrafx folder to the simple folder though as it says there is an issue with permissions. I am using Filezilla.
charcoParticipantI guess this one and PC Engine CD will be included in the next release anyway.
charcoParticipantcharcoParticipantPress F1 in game to pull up the RetroArch RGUI, go to Settings -> Video Settings and change aspect ratio.
charcoParticipantThe permissions on the /etc/emulationstation/themes/simple folder do not allow me to add the pcenginesupergrafx folder to it.
charcoParticipantHi, I am new to this, so apologies for my noobishness.
I would like to add this to my RetroPie menu and I can’t seem to find any tutorial thread on how do so.
Am I right in thinking I can simply backup my current es_systems config, add the contents from the theme text file to it, save it as my new config and add it back to my Pi 2 along with the SuperGrafx svg file and background image to the relevant folder for the config to find the correct assets and it will work?
EDIT: I think I understand, I add this theme to where the themes are kept but I will have to add the system to my es config file to add the system and then it will point to the right theme.
06/03/2015 at 15:21 in reply to: Separate Turbografx 16/PC Engine/SuperGrafx/PC Engine CD/Turbo CD #98956charcoParticipantWow, that’s really great that this can all be configurable. Your idea for separating rom sets by region and translated roms is something I would also be very interested in. I’ll definitely take a look, thanks!
charcoParticipantCool, thanks. I think I’ll try to find an AdvMAME romset, plenty of space on my SD card anyway so what harm :)
charcoParticipantNo, what does this do? I don’t quite understand. I could search for a 0.106 romset, I just don’t know if it is worth it for the new games I can play with this set. Are there many classics fully supported that are not available in MAME4ALL?
charcoParticipantMy lockups stopped when I deleted the gamelist.xml files via ssh aswell. Not scraping anything until this bug is resolved anyway.
charcoParticipantNo problem! Glad I could help, enjoy your GBA games!
charcoParticipantI wonder does the issue only occur when there are a large amount of roms. I am using full rom sets on a 64GB SD card, Floob, I think you are only scraping a fairly small amount and are not experiencing the issue?
charcoParticipantYeah mine was locking up on the system selection screen aswell.
charcoParticipantHold x on the keyboard when lauching a game and you can set the default emulator for that system.
charcoParticipantWhat is the command to stop Emulation Station from running? I might try scraping again if that is guaranteed to be the safest way.
charcoParticipantI think this has something to do with gamelist.xml files. If I delete or add roms via ssh the gamelist file can not reconcile with missing games and Emulation Station freezes. The issue resolves itself when I delete the gamelist file.
