    Hi all, me again :\ lol

    I’m at my wits end lol, I have downloaded and installed all versions of this and I have no joy whatsoever with psx games. I am able to get them to appear (via usb) in a untouched version of retropie but any of smithers versions I cant get it to work. I have followed many guides and even tried using the vanilla version. All in all I am trying to run all my roms off SD internally except psx and sega CD which I want to run off usb externally.

    Below is my path for the psx and I cant see where I’m going wrong. please tell me it is simple, because once I have this done I will be able to enjoy my retropie and then continue work on my bartop project :)

    <system>
    <name>psx</name>
    <fullname>PlayStation</fullname>
    <path>/media/usb0/psx</path>
    <extension>.cue .ccd .cbn .m3u .mdf .pbp .toc .z .znx .CUE .CCD .CBN .ISO .$
    <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ psx %$
    <platform>psx</platform>
    <theme>psx</theme>
    </system>

    Ps smithers, your work has been fantastic and I personally would like to thank you for all your help and work.

    Thanks in advance

    In my experience my friend i have found that the pi 2 3d games alot better as the pi 2 suffers with this. i do not believe its your sd, as you will probably know that most other platforms work ok ie Genesis and snes etc. I suggest if you require these games a pi 2 would probably do the job.

    [quote=102764]Thanks for ng this and coming back. Much appreciated. here area a few of my thoughts.

    1 – I personally prefer my roms on usb/external. This also makes it easier to add/remove roms, especially for my non-technical friends. Plug it in PC and do what you need/ LoL

    My directions for this –
    -sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g (I have a 500Gb drive hooked with with psx games)
    -sudo mount -t ntfs-3g -o uid=pi,gid=pi /dev/sda1 /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/
    -Edit fstab and add /dev/sda1 /home/pi/RetroPie/roms ntfs-3g 0 1

    Done. No configs to change. No need to expand SD card. Maybe some users might like this and you do not have to make multiple versions?

    2 – Your arcade classics gamelist is fantastic. I would keep them maybe and and users can overwite if they want to. If you do the usb thing above, and scrape, it saves the game list on the usb along with images and yours remain on the sd and just ignored.

    Hopefully this helps and gives ideas.

    Thanks

    Luis can you help me with this i have tried your guide here and i am trying to boot psx games via usb. i have followed your guide and i get this;

    pi@retropie ~ $ sudo mount -t ntfs-3g -o uid=pi,gid=pi /dev/sda1 /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/
    Mount is denied because the NTFS volume is already exclusively opened.
    The volume may be already mounted, or another software may use it which
    could be identified for example by the help of the ‘fuser’ command.

    i have tried changing paths although i know you havent, and still no joy. Can anyone lend a hand here. Other than this i have no other faults and will soon be able to enjoy my retropie rather than spend countless hours of coding and trial and error lol

    Thanks in advance

    Hi again guys, i have followed your guide herb about three times now and still no luck. Hi there anton,

    Thanks for your reply. Is this problem something to do with the SD card, if i transferred everything off on to a usb drive and booted from there could i store all the games on there? if not what is the capacity limit of roms before it begins to freeze if you know.

    Thanks in advance
