Retroarch keyboard config script quits unexpectedly

I’m using Retropie 3 beta 2 SD image on a Pi B+. After launching the Retroarch config from the Retropie-Setup script, I can use the arrow keys to select a control to bind, but as soon as I press enter, the script quits and goes back to whichever script launched it. It does the same whether I launch it from ES or from the setup script.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
