raspberry pi 2 crashing on exit on emulator

hi, i have set up my xbox 360 controller to work in 2.6, i had to remove xpad due to contoller issues in nintendo emulators. when i finish a NES game i press btn 6+7 to exit (start & select) and the pi crashes out.

Ive had alook about but nothing seems out of place, does anyone have any suggestions as where the issue may lie?

also where should i add code to add null zones ? the pad picks up the slightest of movements and affects a few games on the snes emulator.
