random no sound in mame (2.6)

Running any rom in mame sometimes causes the sound to be completely off for 1-2 secs; game running normal (no stutter or lag before).

Happens in all games, but not always and not at the same moment, seems to be random. Other emulators are not affected.

This didn’t happen with 2.3. Roms, monitor, controllers are unchanged; Pi is the new Pi 2 (2.3 ran on a Pi 1 B).

Any ideas?

Which version of mame, which version of retropie ?

It’s retropie 2.6 and mame … um … the version that comes with the sd-image :) I haven’t changed anything regarding mame.
