Problems with scrambled text in N64

Hi all.

So, i’ve almost finished to setup everything as i want.
But i still have 2 problems.

First, i get scrambled text in most of N64 games (text is unreadable) in the menus.
I’m on 2.6 image, and i’ve updated mupen64 from source, but it’s still the same…
I have no problem when i play the game but menus are unreadable.

Second, i can’t get Snes roms to run in 16/9 (i’m using snes9x).
Every other emulator is running in 16/9 (genesis, nes, master system), but snes refuses to do it, although i’ve tried a lot of settings in es_systems.cfg and retroarch.cfg..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to setup everything as i want, while waiting for the controlblock to be available again, so i can wire and use my arcade controls freshly bought ^^

For the N64: Sorry, some games simply don’t work properly. This is a software limitation, not a hardware one. Emulating the N64 is very fiddly.

You may be able to force a different aspect ratio by editing the Retroarch.cfg file for SNES. Lots of guides available on how to do this.

Your most likely using the libretro version of mupen with the glide plugin and getting scrambled text, switch over to Mujpen64plus and use the rice plugin, a lot of the games with scrambled text will now run fine.

Like neighbourhood nerd said as well, some games simply don’t work so keep your expectations low.
