    Getting so confused how to setup and run MAME.Does anyone know any step by step instructions how to do so? or can help me out. I have all the Mame-0.37b5 roms already but still nothing runs at all

    put your ROMs in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame

    put your samples in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-samples

    that’s it.

    If your games don’t run (‘missing files’ errors) it is because you don’t have MAME 0.37b5 ROMs.

    Is there a working mame version for RetroPie that uses a later rom set?, I know mainline RetroArch has work version from only a few romsets back

    Yes, there is ADVMAME and FBA.

    MAME romset versions?
