    I added a bunch of zipped n64 roms to the rom folder, and i added zip extention in the es_system.cfg.

    However mupen64plus cannot launch these zipped roms.

    I have searched the mupen64plus documentation and it states that it can launch zipped roms.

    Why doesnt it work in retropie?

    ok thanks, i guess i will need a larger sd card then :(

    You can use a flash drive along with the SD card. You just need to change the settings in es_systems.cfg to point at the flash drive. I am sure you have at least one spare laying around.

    Change Rom Folder Location?
