    Hello,

Using my 19 inch Monitor witht the Pi 2 and fired up Final Fight and others in Mame and it’s not full screen, all games have black borders at the top and bottom, how do I fix this please?

    A linux noob here.

    Thanks

Can you confirm which arcade emulator you are running?

We can probably tell from the path the roms are in. Depending on the emulator it will have a different config file.

    Here are the options:

I’m using mame4all Floob. Not sure which is best to be honest.

Well the mame4all specific config file is
    /opt/retropie/configs/mame-mame4all/mame.cfg

In that file you can adjust a border here:
    display_border=0

but I think the defaut is 0.

Maybe you need to make sure your monitor is set correctly here?
    http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video

    This is done in
    /boot/config.txt

Yes it is set to display_border=0

Too much to configure in /boot/config.txt I’m not sure where to start, do I need to focus on the HDMI parts only, eventhough my monitor is DVI?

    Thanks

Delete the # before disableoverscan=1 in boot/config.txt, save your edits and reboot and see if that makes any difference.

Hmm that didn’t change anything either.

The Punisher (what a game btw) has a black border on the top and bottom.
Ghost n Goblins has black borders on the left and right but are ok on the top and bottom.
