Frozen visuals (but game keeps playing) in Sega emulation

Hi folks,

I am finding that with Sega Master System and Megadrive I’m getting screen freezes where the video locks up, but the game seems to keep running in the background (from the sound effects that seems to be what’s happening). Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes?

I had the same thing happen to me while playing a two player game of Streets of Rage 2. The video locked up about half way through the 3rd level, music kept playing but controls wouldn’t respond. Had to reboot the pi, I haven’t had any time to troubleshoot the issue, was hoping it was a one time deal, maybe not.
