First off, I’m pretty noobish with all this. I’ve been trying to set the display for the SNES and NES emulators to be fullscreen 16:9. I’ve managed to set the display to be 16:9 in retroarch.cfg, but the display is too big and is cutting off the left, right, and top sides of the screen.

I’m not sure if this is an overscan issue. I’ve tried playing around with the overscan_left, overscan_right, etc. settings in /boot/config.txt, and have added overscan_scale=1, but nothing I tried with those settings seemed to help. If anyone could help I’d appreciate it.

Do bear in mind that the nes games will be in 256 x 240 (or an upscaled version of).

So I guess if you forced a widescreen view the aspect ratio would look odd unless you have black bars at the side.

    SNES resolution:

Setting the aspect ratio to 1.25 results in the same problem. It’s now set to display as 4:3. I have black borders on the left and right sides of my TV now, but it still looks as if it’s zooming in too much and the same areas are being cut off as when it was set to 16:9 fullscreen.

Any ideas why it would be zooming in on the display? I guess what I’m looking for in the end is a “stretch to fit” whether my aspect ratio is set to 1.25 or 1.78. I’m able to do this with PC SNES and NES emulators, is it also possible with Retroarch?
