Custom Doom WADS

I’ve read all over the Internet and have tried many solutions, but I’ve exhausted all options. I’m hoping someone on here has gotten custom doom wads running on prboom from RetroPie. I’m using the old 1.9.1 image on a rpi 2. This shouldn’t matter however since the new image still uses prboom. I’ve tried editing prboom.cfg by putting the wad filename in the part that says wad_1, but once I choose the wad, it sends me back to the menu. Any ideas?

Do you mean the doom.sh script? There should be a “retropie/roms/ports/Doom 1 Shareware.sh” script. This script always tries to open “retropie/roms/ports/doom/doom1.wad”. Copy and rename this script and add the path to your new wad file.
