Controller joystick/thumbstick retroarch not working

Hi Retropie forum.
I have made my own custom controller for Retropie using a teensy board, tactile switches and an analog psp thumbstick. I’m able to play emulated games on my mac using it, and it works perfect, however when I try to register it in retroarch or retropie it will only detect down and right from the joystick??
I’ve made a Jstest on it, and that did register Up and Left too!
I have no idea what this could be, do you?
Any answer or suggestion will be greatly appreciated! :)
