Cloning an SD card using Midnight Commander

Hi,

Just looking for a bit of advice. I need to copy my SD card for a friend who is struggling with their setup and don’t currently have a laptop so need to copy directly to a new sd card. I’m not sure if it is possible, but can I copy all files over to the new sd card in midnight commander? Or will I need to create a full image like most tutorials suggest?

I would just use ImageWriter to write an image of your SD card ro your HDD and then turn and burn that image onto your friend’s card.

Thanks, I decided on a clean install in the end, I just copied the individual files I wanted from micro sd to micro sd using Midnight commander. When creating backups in future however, I will follow the method you suggested!
