C64 game loads very slow

Hello,

I’m finding the game load times very slow on the C64 emulator, but the games run fine, any reason for this?

thats how long the real c64 took to load games. in the options, if you turn on “warp” while it loads, it will speed up the emulation and load quickly. when its done loading, turn off warp.

I’m not had to do this on other c64 emulators, load times are very fast and automatically done, I’m sure of it?

if the game doesn’t use any fast loaders, you can also fiddle with the drive emulation modes in the configuration. Another thing to do, is to use a actionreplay/retroreplay rom, so you have a fast loader by default (you can save the default setting with an cart plugged in, then you will get faster loading speed).

you can “insert” roms for carts like this within vice – giving you the additional features of having a cart plugged in, such as built in fast loader.
