    Hi guys,

    brand new to retropie, just completed the setup and now I’m onto transferring roms.

    I’m looking at setting up atari 2600, C64, Amiga, SNES and Mame.

    Simple q – are all the roms dumped into the root folder? Eg no sub folders just copy all related roms into /c64 or /amiga etc?

    Also are Mame roms left compressed in .zip in the relevant mame folder?

    Just to qualify, the sub folders would be to break up the list of roms. Eg split them from a-d e-g etc

    you can arrange them as you wish, if you use sub folders tho, gamelist.xml info will not show, like box art

    sorry I’m not sure what the gameslist.xml is

    In Emulationstation it is possible to pull information about your roms from a database, i.e. Developer, number of players, boxart etc. The gamelist.xml is the file that stores this information about your games.

    P.S.: You can also just jump to a specific letter in Emulationstation by pressing select.
