I wanted to make a few splash screens from games I loved in the 16-bit era. I’ve made 2 so far. I plan to make some more. Use them for whatever you want!

06/29/2015 at 13:39 #100971robertybobParticipantI especially like the Sonic one! Would be great if both of these could be added to Sur0x’s plash screen ramdomiser
07/04/2015 at 00:47 #101310rookervikParticipantHere’s a ‘Legend of Zelda – A Link to the Past’ RetroPie Splash Screen. I like it as it is, but would some people like to have the full RetroPie text, rather than just ‘Retro?’ (Retro just fit properly). I can make these things, I’m just not great at designing them. :-P

https://github.com/taalas/RetroPie-Artwork/tree/master/Splashcreens
01/14/2016 at 16:43 #113992sur0xParticipantHi @herbfargus, yeah, I already had plans to do that, I did a diff between mine and taalas repo so I’ll add asap I was waiting the repo owner say something!
https://github.com/sur0x/retropiesplashscreen/issues/3
let me ask you something, can retropie play video in splashs Natively now? I think I saw some video in that repo
01/14/2016 at 16:59 #113994herbfargusMemberYeah video is supported. Typically mp4 files. Functions the same way as a normal splashscreen.
01/14/2016 at 17:23 #114000sur0xParticipantAwesome, I’ll start to upload videos and make a new option to install videos!
01/14/2016 at 23:55 #114025sur0xParticipantHi @rookervik I have added your splashs to the randomizer dude you are good, those splashs are amazing!!!
If you continue I have some suggestions:
Secret of Mana
Super Mario World
Ghouls ‘N Ghosts
Mother 301/15/2016 at 03:58 #114039rookervikParticipantOh shoot, I haven’t done a game splash screen in a while. Haha. I still have Starfox and some others on the back burner. I should probably get back into it. Still need to finish this HD Megaman X splash screen + movie I was working on.
01/17/2016 at 06:13 #114151lilbudParticipantHey @sur0x,

01/23/2016 at 04:34 #114811rookervikParticipantCan you guess what game this is from? Uploaded image has the answer. This took forever to paint. LOL.
01/23/2016 at 05:46 #114817AnonymousInactiveAh man rookervik, earthworm Jim amazing, one of my favorites from you
01/23/2016 at 07:22 #114819rookervikParticipantAnd the final entry for tonight: Super Castlevania IV for SNES. This one came out SMOOTH.
01/23/2016 at 20:06 #114886rookervikParticipantOk, this isn’t 16-bit, but for the sake of making a billion posts for splash screens of mine, I’ll post it here.
Here’s Tetris for Gameboy. It’s pixel, but done differently than others since the Gameboy has such a tiny resolution. So I put pixel separation and a slight glow around the edges of the separation to emulate the LCD screen. And sampled colors from photos of a Gameboy screen. So hopefully they’re accurate.
01/23/2016 at 22:20 #114895sur0xParticipantAdded everything so far!
