    I have a Betson / Imperial Arcade VGA monitor that I’;m trying to get working. Has anyone ever used one of these before?

    I was able to get the RetroPi to boot up and display on it by setting the following in the /boot/config.txt file.

    hdmi_group=1
    hdmi_mode=1

    However when I launch a game in MAME the mode changes on me and the monitor can’t display it.

    How do I go about setting the display modes that MAME and other emulators used so they don’t switch.

    The HDMI to VGA adapter I’m using is also so maybe that’s my problem too. I would have thought it would convert the signal down but it seems the Pi has to set the right signal.

    Anyone have any thoughts on this?
