    Hello all,

    I’ve recently installed RetroPie using the script starting from a Raspian Wheezy (2013.05.img192) install while using Berryboot (latest version). Every other emulator that I have tried (NES, SNES, PSX) is running relatively smoothly, however when I attempt to launch the Sega Master System emulator I simply get a black screen and nothing happens regardless of how long I wait, when I then exit emulationstation I get the output you can see in the image in the attachment. I have tried several things (include a re-install of Berryboot and the previous version of Raspbian), however none of these have worked. I have looked at the osmose.ini file, which does seem to be present and looks normal to me…

    Below some additional information of what I’m currently using:
    Raspberry Pi Model B (revision 000e)
    connected to this is a usb hub with a fan, keyboard and subsonic controller (cheaper wired ps2/3 controller alternative) attached to it.
    As storage I’m now using a Kingston 32gb microsd (class 4), before I was using a 2.5″ 320gb samsung hdd (unfortunately it might be broken).

    I’m really hoping that someone here could offer some insight as this is the last hurdle in my little project, which I have been stuck on for some time now.

    I had loads of issues when using berryboot, in the end i just “moved” my install to a 128gb usb key and all works without issues…

    the biggest issue with berryboot is that you are unable to properly overclock the install/device as berryboot handles it and you can’t edit the “config.txt” specificity for that installl…

    Hey Karloss, thanks for your response, unfortunately I am a little stuck with berryboot as I mean to make the case pretty closed off so I can’t easily swap memory cards, plus I already have a working xbmc setup on the card as well and I’d rather not have to redo that. I suppose I could try adding the sd card image with squashfs or something along those lines.

    I successfully added the RetroPie SD card image to berryboot using squashfs, unfortunately I am still experiencing the same problem with the mastersystem emulator ( I think it’s an osmose issue and I guess I’ll try looking into that a bit)

    PS: If anyone wants it I could make the latest version of the SD card image of retropie that can be added to berryboot available

    Hey @renoreaper,
    I’ve tried a couple of times to convert RetroPie to a squashFS compatible version for Berryboot.. but singularly failed.. I found a spanish PDF guide for an older version and translated / updated it.. but the RetroPie install i wound up with wasnt functional and my Linux knowledge not sufficient enough to troubleshoot it. If you have a functional squashFS version, i for one would be really in it!! :)

    Hey @mattgrimley ,

    It is a partially working RetroPie install, as mentioned before I do have an issue with the Osmose emulator (which runs the sega master system). Anyhow, I will upload the image to a filehost and post the link here once it is done (it might be a while though, given the size of the file)

    Okay here’s a link to the squashfs’ed image of retropie:

    (using mega as file host, hope that’s okay, will remove link if not)

    On another note, I stumbled upon an earlier thread/issue with emulationstation/retropie:
    Currently I am looking to create a similar script for raspbian, only when I execute this script (identical to that in the post except lightdm stop instead of nodm stop), I still get the X is running error… Looking at the posts I assumed this was fixed/working, is there any news regarding this?

    It seems links might be disabled (or I screwed up), either way I will send you the squashfs image link via pm.
