hi guys, i have been wondering, what are the requirements needed for ported/homebrew games to be able to run/e played on the raspberry pi via retropie?
can any linux version be tested? or are there special raspberry pi requirements?
thank you
08/19/2015 at 20:55 #104302herbfargusMemberIf it runs on Linux and can be scripted to work on the raspberry pi with retropie’s style guide and has no glaring copyright/ licensing issues it can be added.
08/19/2015 at 21:03 #104305gonzothegreatParticipantthats awesome!! i hope….
would you mind if i sent you some links? to have a look at or to try out?
i have no idea on how to get anything that not in retropie to install or run. (embarrassingly)08/19/2015 at 21:53 #104310herbfargusMemberWell now is always a good time to learn :p feel free to post the links. Can’t guarantee anything as I’ve got uni coming up but I wouldn’t mind taking a look.

08/19/2015 at 22:33 #104314gonzothegreatParticipanthere are some ports/homebrew games that may be nice to have added if anyone can get them running well….

But it looked like some did have raspberry pi builds that might work, but I’m not sure of the viability in adding them to retropie but the final say is up to buzz and Florian. I’ll look through them in more detail later and mark which ones are even worth looking at for testing on the pi, and perhaps write up a quick how to on compiling/ tarballs etc so you can try them out yourself.

I, personally, don’t play any of the ported games on the Pi. I have a PC for that. So they really just waste space on my Pi. But for people that would like the games, it would be great to have the ability to install them and links in the Ports section. :)
